Just watched The highlights. The Aussies were absolutely abysmal. Clarke won't play again for them after this series and looks a broken man and how can Smith be rated so highly if he can't handle swing bowling? This will be over by Saturday. See the Aussie press are seething which is always good to see! Was expecting a close series after the lords test but it looks like there is something going on behind the scenes in the Australia camp as they have completely imploaded

ok they are down and England have 6 more wicket in hand with a lead over 200 but I watch the 1981 ashes and england was in a right mess and all but given the aussie the ashes so it can be done but they need quick wickets in the morning and then bat long and score runs and let England chase a low score like 180 to 230 to win

The Australians will have to knock the last six wickets over for less than 50 runs, then score at least 400 themselves to have a chance
With their bowlers now extremely demotivated and the pressure off England's batsmen, there's not a chance of them taking those six wickets for such a low score
If their top order batsmen get their act together and play correctly as they did at Lords, they may post a second innings score of 400+, but it won't be enough
It's amazing what a bit of confidence can do to a cricketer, or a confidence crisis can do to a team as we saw this morning

tbf, you could use the same logic for Root batting in Australian conditions. Both teams have been awful when not playing in their own backyard.how can Smith be rated so highly if he can't handle swing bowling?
