The Ashes 2015

I'm very much a glory hunter were cricket is concerned. I don't really like it and couldn't give a shite when England lose. However, I'm not averse to jumping on the bandwagon and enjoying seeing them win. Rubbing salt into Aussie wounds is also very nice.
I actually enjoyed watching England bat today. One of the few times I've actually enjoyed watching a game of cricket.
The flip side of course is that without having made an emotional investment in the team, winning is nowhere near as nice as it is when City win a game.
This must be how most rag fans feel when they support the scum.
I actually give more of a shite when the England cricket team lose. Not even arsed these days when the England Football team lose.

The Australians will have to knock the last six wickets over for less than 50 runs, then score at least 400 themselves to have a chance
With their bowlers now extremely demotivated and the pressure off England's batsmen, there's not a chance of them taking those six wickets for such a low score
If their top order batsmen get their act together and play correctly as they did at Lords, they may post a second innings score of 400+, but it won't be enough
It's amazing what a bit of confidence can do to a cricketer, or a confidence crisis can do to a team as we saw this morning

that's the key the aussie are at rock bottom and England may think they won the ashes already

but they can have another go in the 2nd innings and if England don't bat right this morning and a lead of 250/300 could be what England bowlers feel they will happy with but the aussie will not bat that bad again and could just sit in and just play right and easy knock off 300 runs in a day

England need to bat all day with them 6 wickets score over 500 runs and bat the aussie out of the game then they can bowl with freedom in the 2nd innings and they will just give up and give the wickets away

both of them things can happen and have in the past in test cricket so nothing is set in stone just yet

I actually think if we get anything over 300 the game is over. Yes the Aussies won't bat as bad again but they will struggle to get over 300. Most of the top order are seriously out of form

I think everyone should go back to page one and have a read.

Only a few people clued up enough to back England. For shame. For shame.

As Botham would say, "some people are afraid of winning".

There's not a chance in hell any of that will happen.

Funny isn't it how the period of absolute, bullying, effortless dominance of the Aussies in world cricket more or less corresponded to that of the rags in the PL . That is, broadly speaking , the nineties and most of the noughties. I think that's why Iove us beating the Aussies so much. It's sort of "blows against the empire" time. Don't particularly care what England do against India, Pakistan, South Africa etc., but I just love it when we beat the Aussies.
That catch by Stokes was unreal. I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's not just the batting. It's not just the bowling. It's the fielding. That brilliant Aussie side of Hayden, Gilchrist, Ponting. Langer, Warne, Lee was also a superb fielding side. England regularly dropped catches. They didn't, or far more rarely. Yesterday, ok, the Aussies' batting was abject, but our fielding was ferocious. The difference was also there.
