The battle for 3rd place

Does 4th place still go into a play off? The bloke who sits next to me told me at the Liverpool match that it was changing and that 4th now goes straight in to the group draw. I haven't heard anything about it anywhere else though tbh.

So you don't think Liverpool will lose another game?

I'll take that bet... we'll finish comfortably above the dippers
Looking at how they were in January without Mane then the results of the scan on his knee are going to have a huge bearing on where they end up. If he's out for the season they could easily drop out of the top 4 altogether, if he is only out for a couple of weeks you'd still fancy them for top 4.

no that's not the case, still have to go through the final qualifying round

I fancy them for the top 4, I just don't see them going unbeaten, with or without mane... they will lose at West Brom and stoke imo and palace isn't a gimme with there current form!

I reckon top 4 is sorted, but can see us climbing the ladder. I reckon the rags will win that Europa league bollocks and we might end up with 5 teams in the UCL.

I agree. I can see us finishing 2nd, Spurs 3rd and Liverpool 4th and United winning the Europa(unfortunately)

I think this is the year Arsenal drop out. They do generally finish strong but this year is different. They've never had a run like this and Wenger is under proper pressure this time.

The rags run in is horrendous and they drop too many points at home.

I think the current top 4 is your top 4, and after Chelsea in any order.

Although if we beat the chavs tonight I think 2nd is a banker. Spurs will choke at the first sniff of a challenge

I think if they won that competition they'd have more right to be in it rather than a team that finished 4th in their league and won nothing. I'd argue it's good for English football and the co-efficients as well...

...Saying all that, I hope Anderlecht tear them a new Arsenal.

The two most settled teams appear to have the top two positions sewn up. I know Chelsea have a new manager but their squad was strong they just downed tools last year. The other four fighting for the remaining two slots are in transitional periods hence their inconstancy. Funnily enough the rags are the most consistent they just draw too many games.

We need to get a winning run going now as Arsenal always seem to finish strongly no matter how flaky they appear. It is time to finish the season as we started it we are more than capable.

I disagree - I don't think the Europa League should have an extra prize attached. If UEFA do not think winning the Europa is enough for teams, they should scrap it altogether

Regardless of what we do tonight, we can't afford any more stupid mistakes.
Hopefully Spurs and Chelsea will kick lumps out of each other at Wembley.
Arsenal are in a weird situation, but traditionally they finish strongly.
United have got the hardest set of fixtures, but we might need them to get something at Arsenal.
Liverpool face a relatively easy run-in, but then again, it's the relatively easy away games, where they've struggled.

All the teams have injury problems, but hopefully Jesus can give us a boost for the last few games.

They need to rethink it definitely. The old fairs cup and the cup winners cup were considered top trophies to win in their day but then the European cup was just a straight knockout competition as well. Once they started the league system it killed the Europa league.

As most have stated, we desperately need to get a run of wins together, our last three games (all draws) isn't good enough, regardless of the opposition.
That 0-0 draw with Stoke killed our momentum going in to the next three games, we had a good run of wins prior to that.
I just think, the way the seasons gone so far we could be set for a similar situation as last season, possibly securing top four in the last game.
Another draw tonight isn't the worst result, but a win could really kick start a strong finish to our season.
