The battle for 3rd place

Can't see us beating united. Our team doesn't have the bottle for this type of game and they have their tail between their legs.
 
The rags are in the ascendancy now and I fear the worst on Thursday. We will be knackered and carrying injured players and big nose being injured is bad for us as Martial's pace will cause our creaking defence problems. They will be allowed to kick and rough us up with impunity and their height will cause us nightmares at set pieces. One glimmer of hope is the dippers ability to shoot themselves in the foot.
 
I was pretty confident we batter Utd on Thursday especially as they lost big nose.

Now we are likely to be without merlin and aguero through injury yesterday's game could be more expensive than just a fa cup final!

Utd will play play the high ball into our box so hopefully kompany can play two games in 5 days!

A couple of square pegs in round holes (navas at fullback as well as he has played aint area and he is still shit going forward which is something that Pep needs - Ironic really that his best performances have been in the full back position and he is actually more effective as a defender than an attacking option)....also KDB as I said in another thread aint cutting it either and we need someone a little more dynamic than Yaya as well now. (though again he has mostly played well but in a very simplistic way)

I thought Yaya was by some margin our best player yesterday. If anything was fair he would have been mom.

Same here. Pretty confident up until the loss of Aguero and Dave. I now fear they will foul and elbow us off the park with inpunity. We need Vinny fit otherwise they will bully us in the box.
 
We arent mentally strong enough for games like this, no bottle. To think a few years ago we had our foot firmly on the throat of every team in the league, we've made a right balls up of it

The thrashings meted out to United, Spurs, Arsenal will live long in the mind. Plenty of success against Chelsea including a cup semi final.

But appallingly bad work by Beguiristain has left us where we are. While Pep's naivety and ego has contributed to some bad performances overall I'd apportion blame like this.

Any news on Silva and Aguero? Somebody at work telling me they're injured.

Is KDB suspended or does the 10 yellow rule not apply?

I will tell you how this will pan out on Thursday, united will go for it in the first 20 mins looking to get an early goal. If they achieve it, or dont, they will revert to how you have described it. 11 behind the ball and look to nick possession and spring forward.

We need to be both tactically aware, smart and ruthless on Thursday. Pep should know how united will set up. I am a big believer in that Pep will get it right at our club, cementing a win on Thursday night is for me the first true test because of what is on offer, the only apprehension i have is knowing for all the faults united have, is that we also have weak links in our team.

On paper we should win this one, and i will be hoping for a huge response from losing the semi final yesterday

Even the match at old Trafford at the start of the season, Pep looked to have got some balls back into us after a few years of us being a soft touch. Fuck knows why we have just slipped back into being flaky as fuck as soon as we play a decent team. Presumably no Silva, no Aguero and probably no Kompany on Thursday, it could be a long night. I'd take a draw and damage limitation at this point even though I think united are no great shakes whatsoever.

That game will have taken it out of the players mentally and physically. They don't lose many so it's a draw at best I think. I'd actually take that now.

It will all depend on what we do from then on and how the other sides results go. We might scrape it but on the back of other teams messing up rather than anything great that we do.

Assist for one and scored the other when we turned them over in September. Have a little more faith :-)

They are shite but one point behind us? And are playing every 3-4 days ? Listen mate I hate the bastards with every bone in my body but as it stands we look as equally as shit as them , we are very vulnerable on Thursday mark my words - Mourinho for the utter bellend that he is specialises in games like this , they are on a big unbeaten run and if it was us that was on one I'd tend to agree with you a bit more.

50-50 this game , the biggest derby for a good few years with what's at stake.
