The battle for 3rd place

Lol I love it when the truth hurts.
The whole of football say pep has been poor. Not city fans though, no siree pep has done a brilliant job.

Ycmiu.

1. Football isn't a hive mind and few agree on anything, let alone that Pep Guardiola has been "poor" this season.
2. Those who do agree on the above, tend to actually be uninformed bellends who most would be ashamed to be connected with, ala Stan Collymore and Paul Merson or long time City-detractors like Jeremy Cross and Duncan Castles.
3. That City fans tend to have a more positive outlook on City isn't surprising and that you exclude yourself from the category speaks volumes.
4. Your arrogance is misplaced and the majority here view your inane, tired and constantly negative comments as "old man yells at cloud" syndrome.

If we win two games of football we finish third.

If we win one game of football and draw another we might finish third but definitely fourth.

If we don't get the required points we only have ourselves to blame, but we are in charge of our own destiny.

However I still haven't got over that dogshit second half against Leicester, even though we won.
We certainly are in charge of our own destiny, and if the better Man City turn up we will certainly get third place.

But there is always the nagging doubt at the back of your mind that we always do things the hard way and a draw on Tuesday would just add to that feeling.

The recent Stoke home game shows just what can happen if we are not on our game from the kick off.

As I was saying.

Nowt like a hard fought and gutsy win to piss the usual few off is there pmsl?

Just mentioned this in the pre-match thread, but both West Brom and Watford are bottom of the form table (both have won one and lost five of their last six games). With them having nothing to play for, I'm expecting us to win both games and finish third.

Couple that with our recent return to much better form because of the return of key players like Jesus and Vinny and i too am confident we will wrap 3rd spot up.

I think its all about what a fan will deem success.

some fans will be happy with struggle for 4th, for gifting the rags the league cup, for playing the completely wrong line up at Monaco, some fans, but not all.

I don't give a flying fuck what division we play in, been there done that. now though we are on a different planet and we expect much much more.

big season coming up.

The problem is the extra 15-18 points we need next season and the improvement we need in Europe.
Well if we win the next 2 we'll be close with 12 points better off for this season
Europe was unfortunate I think; we went out to a really top side on away goals and on another day could have easily gone through
Don't get me wrong it's not been the perfect season but I think it's been okay for a team in transition

West Brom's form is genuinely incredible. Since reaching 40 points in February, they've won 1 game out of 10, losing 7.

With the form they were in until they got 40 pts, they were on target for 58. The form they've had since then is the equivalent to 19 pts in a season.

The best , probably ONLY way to get BM posters to criticise Pep, is for him to win a trophy. If that happens you mark my words He'll be a "bald ****", "lucky bastard", "overrated wanker" within two days of the celebrations dying down. It's happened with the last two managers and it'll happen again either with Pep if he ever wins anything, or the next guy.

I think the club could help more too. we've lost numerous points via bent refs. we should be at them over the summer. the agenda is no longer up for debate, its there alright. this is why we absolutely must play our strongest side, especially in the prem. we don't have to beat 11 men its bastard 14 most of the time.

Its surreal this thread pmsl.

Pep is a bit shit but he has to play against 14 men every week......

Don't get me wrong both are doable with the right transfer business. However, our home league form has been well below expected for the season and we weren't good enough in Europe overall, home to Barca and BMG were great, home to Monaco was a rollercoaster even if it seemed like we'd never seen them play before, but the away games to BMG, Celtic and Monaco were shocking and away to Barca summed up our season - a game we could have and should have buried in the first half that we managed to lose 0-4. Lots of improvement needed.

I agree with that. To be fair though I haven't noticed it being any worse this season. It's been bent since 2008 when we were bought by a Muslim. I've never been able to work out why though.
