The battle for 4th place

I am really sad seeing us drop points vs Geordies :/ If Pep would have been our manager, he would have torn into each players at half time for their disastrous passing. I am more concerned about top 4 than CL tbh.

I hope Silva or Nasri come back on Sat to support KDB and Aguero.

the biggest problem for me was not playing full team and at full strength at newcastle. FFS, win that game and you then have home game vs Stoke without pressure and there you can rest players, specially as it is closer to CL one. Newcastle was so fucking vital game on many fronts I just can't believe we had such lazy approach to it. If we won that we could prepare for Stoke and Madrid relaxed and now is all except relaxed if they care a bit.
much too sensible for our pathetic manager.

we should have appointed rafa as caretaker the day pep was confirmed. pellers is quite obviously trying to harm us. no other reasonable explanation for his selections and tactics.

Liverpool will start to rest players. The fact is they have to hope three teams have disasters. There best hope of Champions League is the Europa League

I think we'll just about sneak fourth from Liverpool, personally. They're on a bit of a roll and they look good for next season but I think their charge will be a little late. We need three wins to guarantee 4th spot but Southampton away and Arsenal at home are sandwiched by the Madrid games. Our brilliant run in the Champions' League might well cost us a shot at the big time next season if we lose both of those games.

It shouldn't and needn't. But for weeks now it's been blindingly obvious and to be honest, understandable, that PellegrinI does not give a toss about the league. Why should he? We aren't going to win it and whether we are in the CL next season is no concern to him. If he can make the CL final or even fluke winning it, his personal objectives are best satisfied.

But I am surprised our management team have not recognised this risk. We simply cannot drop out of the CL places, it would be a catastrophe.
