The Bernardo Silva Chant Has Been Ruined

If you put aside the very immature, unfunny and crass nature of the new line it’s just crap as it’s nothing to do with Bernardo or even City.

Correct, what gets me is that thrown in is a line totally nothing to do with our best player of the season. Totally pointless, a bit like adding "carricks a munich" to the Leroy sane song.

To many people looking from a different angle to support why it is sung.

End of the day deep down we all know its crap so lets sing a song for bernardo that relates to blues fans and barnado.

Charlton lyrics aren’t great but most of us have sung much worse. If we are looking for lyrics which fit the Bernardo song, why not ‘he’s our Portuguese King’?

That’s just pure conjecture which is incorrect in many cases in the thread. I’m not old, I join in with chants and I enjoy taking drugs, at the game, away from the game, at home in me Todd... yet I fucking hate this new line in this chant.

True it is conjecture and I tend to agree with everything you post mate but there’s so much pious hypocrisy on this thread by old timers showing no tolerance for the boisterousness and yes foolishness of youth

Again it isn't about that, though I wouldn't sing it personally but I couldn't give 2 fucks if the young uns want a song about charlton being a kiddie fiddler that they giggle and sing about in their little bulble, fuck it I used the same kind of comment in michael jackson thread about him always carrying sweets, the ticket tout being a wrong un has been a line used by city fans for decades.

It would be like you hear that dickish we're city we're mad shite but it will never end up on the terrace thankfully, we will alway have small groups with songs that upset the rest.

Attaching it to the bernardo song is what people are bothered about.

I'm 30, so wouldn't bracket myself as an old timer (yet). You're confusing the difference between foolishness of mistakenly being offensive and what this is, where people are actively trying to be offensive. Whether you or anyone else finds it offensive or not is irrelevant - their intention is to be offensive for the sake of being offensive.

Having been to several away games this season, its a familiar trait.

You admitted on the other thread you've only been to one game - the derby, so its surprising the length at which you can pontificate about our match going support.

I see I didn't get a reply on how you managed to get a ticket for it either?

You don’t like people complaining about taking an illegal drug. Aww you poor little snowflake. It’s not fair is it.

I personally don’t care what people do with their own bodies/time. Take any drug you want it’s nothing to do with me. Just don’t be an arsehole and don’t bother me or anyone else while you’re at it.

Also being young and boisterous is not excuse for bad behaviour. ‘My son was chanting racist songs and beat someone up at the game’. But his only young so it’s ok. Is a ridiculous argument.
