The best Atmosphere since we moved?

I had this discussion last night leaving the stadium. We both thought the atmosphere last night was excellent, even before we scored but especially so once we'd equalised.

One thing we also spoke about was this "Maine Road Atmosphere" myth. Sure, Maine Road was great and when the old standing Kippax was in full voice it was amazing, but you can't tell me that our stadium now isn't better than the latter years of Maine Road. It might take a bit to really get it going, but that's because it's bigger by 15000 or so. Also, since we moved, we've not really had a great deal on the pitch to make it fulfill it's potential. With games like Lisbon second half and last night, I think it proved that if the team perform and the fans also do their bit, the Etihad is far far better than Maine Road ever was.
Not ever. I remember my Dad taking me in the Kippax and I had to put my hands over my ears because it was deafening! But I agree, Maine Road after 1994 was shit.

Last night was the first time in a long while that i got my money's worth out of my ticket.

Great game, great atmosphere, great laugh. Voice still sore.

blasting out blue moon when we went 1-0 down was brilliant, and also we went 2-1 up and every single city fan was singing bluemoon, me and my grandad just looked up and around the stadium saying wow. nearly brought a tear to my eye

Last night?

Does anyone else think that that was probably the best atmosphere generated since the move from Maine Road?

The only one that i think comes close is Hamburg at home but still dont think it was as loud or passionate as last night...especially when Nasri grabbed the winner?

Not often all stands chant & sing in unison. Proud blue after last night!

Who said fans under pressure was a bad thing ?? Seems the blues revel in it.

Never got on the teams back , we could be heard throughout the entire 90 and it was one of the best atmospheres I have seen at the Etihad , and I've been to every derby and the Hamburg game , and that last night gave those games a run for their money.

Great atmosphere last night, fantastic effort by those not in the "singing areas". We try our best to get the atmosphere flowing around the stadium but its up to the whole ground to get behind the lads and to a man/woman they did that last night.

Last night showed the potential atmosphere we can create at the stadium if we ALL get involved.

Same again for Sunderland!

What struck me at one point when we were 1 nil down was that the whole CBS Lower suddenly jumped up in Unison with the North Stand and started singing, arms stretched wide open, the dogs doodars, great noise at times, needs to be like that every gamne, brilliant.....
The Cheski fans were just stood there agasp as the final minutes ebbed away, looking around the stadium at what must have looked like a riot in a lunitic asylum.............!!

The atmosphere was great from the start, but after we'd missed a couple of chances early on the crowd around me in EL1 were getting hysterical, screaming at players to lump it forward because it was 0-0 and there was only 55 minutes left to play! I know it's hard but people need to chill the f*ck out, we've got the players to do the job.

Atmosphere in the 2nd half was superb, and completely mental when Nasri scored.

One Step Beyond was the icing on the cake.

Well played everyone.

No matter what the situation and no matter where you sit, there's always at least one overgrown three year old of a bloke screaming NOWNOWNOW.

not really we only got goin when we scored

Did we fuck!It was rocking from the off.It went a little flat for a bit just after they scored,it brought back memories of Tottenham a couple of years ago,but it soon picked up again and went off the scale when the winner went in.
