The Best Country In The World

The best country is based on your circumstances. America would be great if you were rich but I wouldn't want to be one of the people struggling to get by on a low wage who could be bankrupted any minute by a medical bill that your insurer doesn't cover. If I could choose to be born again in any country in the world it'd definitely be the Netherlands or a Scandinavian country. They're always the clear winners in most measures of a successful country. I like Australia but the great thing about Europe is how much variety there is so close. I'd hate to have to spend over a grand every time I wanted to go abroad.

I like the US. It's really not bad at all. There are times when I say "fuck this place". Then I hear about some foreign law that takes away a right that they don't really care about, but something I dearly care about. When I read about prosecutions in England for racism, that may seem normal and acceptable to Brits, but the concept of being prosecuted for an opinion is really chilling to me. Even if it's one I find appalling. Plus, the weather is really nice over here. Giving up my guns..... no. Scandinavia? Nah, too cold. I hate cold weather. Having a monarch? I'll pass.

Living in another country sounds interesting to me, I just wouldn't want to be subject to those laws.

So you don't mind racism and like your guns. Ok. I think you're best off in the states.

I "mind" racism, I just don't think it should be illegal. And yeah, I do like my guns.

The US is a place where there's a lot of freedom. You have to be one of those people who can handle the freedom to fuck up in high doses. And maybe you don't mind a little danger. If you can do all that, and don't mind working, it'll be paradise.

The truth is, I can only describe my state. There are 50 of them, and each has different laws, weather, lifestyle, culture, etc. My state just legalized marijuana, btw! Rating the US as a whole is like rating Europe as a whole. The west coast of the United States, I'll put this lifestyle up against anything anywhere.

I think you're best off in the states.
That was kinda the gist of what I wrote. You're observant.

Its $200 to fly to Bali. Fiji, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, a bit more to Vietnam, Philippines, Hong Kong or did you think they were in Oz ?

This is what Americans actually believe.

Land of the 'free' and home of the brave.

On a serious note I'd love to visit Canada. They just come across as really cool folk plus have landscape that is amazing.

From Darwin maybe. I've lived in Vietnam for 4 years, and I've looked at flights loads of times from Singapore and KL to Oz. I've never seen cheap flights to anywhere but Darwin or Perth (and who wants to go there?). You're typically looking at close to £300 to Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast or Brisbane. A grand might've been an exaggeration, depending on your tastes, but it doesn't really compare to the prices you can go abroad for in Europe.

Who'd wanna go to Bali anyway? It's full of pissed up Aussies. ;)
