Then buy a bottle of Conde De Valdemar and never go back to the dark side again. It's not a valid question which the OP poses in my view. Everyone's tastes are different, as evidenced by the replies to date.
My advice would be to try different grape varieties in the first instance, find one you like. Then try wines made from that grape from different regions until you find one you really like. Also, try different vintages as this will also affect the quality and taste. When you find one you like, buy as much of it as you can afford.
Or, go to a wine merchants and do all of the above in one afternoon then place an order.
Or, go to a Three Wine Men (Google it) and try loads of wines all in one place.
Or, join a wine club and try different wines every month or quarter.
I like wine :-)
Not a fan. Most are too heavy for me tbh. Actually, worst red I ever had was after a due diligence job when we were brought out by the selling crowd, Bordeaux at €600 a glass and it was terrible.I love a Malbec, but there's a very good reason the most expensive wine in pretty much any decent restaurant is a Bordeaux. If it's any good, it's simply on another level to any other red wine.
And on the eighth day god said "those of you that don't like Rioja, there's a reason I've put cliffs all over the world, go take a running jump".If you want a Malbec, Finca la Linda is amazing. The vineyard do a great Viognier if White is your thing too.
If your going French or Italian it has to be 2005. The heatwave made those wines unreal.
If Rioja is your thing, bang your head off a table ;-)
