The Biggest derby in world football?

I think we have one of the biggest now, in terms of spectacle and attention of the press. There isn't a hatred between Mancunians, but in terms of the draws of the respective clubs who is really fucking with us right now? Nobody outside of Glasgow cares about the Auld Firm derby. Milanese football has declined greatly.

As far as I'm aware it's Old Firm, I stand to be corrected with evidence however!

Think its both TBH, Auld is more commonly how its referred to in Scotland, i.e Auld Lang Syne. Apparently the word Auld is Scots English?

Can't we just call it two shit teams in Scotland who are as bigoted as each other, that nobody outside Scotland (and Ireland) gives a toss about.

Like many others I can't wait for the game tomorrow. But what I want to know is who do people think has the fiercest derby games in World football ?

Has anyone been to any of the foreign games and would recommend one ?

Fenerbahce v Galataseray (Asia v Europe)
Sevilla v Real Betis (bourgois v poor)
Celtic v Rangers (catholic v protestant)
Barcelona v Real Madrid (Catalan v Castillan/Facist)
Flamengo v Flumenense (Brazil, again rich v poor)
Boca Juniors v River Plate (inter-city rivalry)
Hull FC v Hull KR (ooh this is a biggen!)

Boca would be the more blue collar side in relation to Rivers millionaires as they're known. There's certainly a traditional class divide amongst the sides support. Like all these footballing rivalries though, it's become diluted over time.

Could we put any of the 'big city' English rivalries up there as the worlds best? Manchester, Merseyside, North London? Perhaps even Miiiwaaal v West Am'!?!

Olympiakos v Panathanaikos, aka 'The Derby of the Eternal Enemies'.

The traditionally working-class club founded down at the port of Piraeus versus the well-heeled, traditionally moneyed team 'unofficially' supported by the Greek junta. Absolutely mental, noise like nothing you've heard before. People fighting in the streets - folk often die in the aftermath of this one. It's much better policed now and the atmosphere remains incredible.

Stay away from Olympiakos' ground, S.E.F. - the ironically named 'Peace and Friendship' stadium when this one's on, and don't use the Metro.

HSV vs St Pauli in Hamburg not for the faint hearted
Fenbache and Galatasaraay as mentioned above is bad

See, for me, a derby is about passion, about the fans singing their hearts out above and beyond the call of duty.

Not fighting. Not murder.

That's not a derby.

Believe it or not the Krackow derby is pretty mental..some of the worst hooligans in europe......i like the idea of setting light to the captured oppositions flags and scarfs..reckon we should try it tommorow
