The Bluemoon Job Club.

Back on the look-out, ho-hum. After anything where I don't have to sit in a stuffy office, listening to discussions about Avon products, spray tans, cruises, ice dancing on the telly, or in fact, anything on the telly.

just thought I'd drop this here, though I'm not sure if anyone would be interested.

BNP Paribas are running a recruitment scheme for tech guys:

<a class="postlink" href="https://graduates.bnpparibas.com/codehunter/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://graduates.bnpparibas.com/codehunter/</a>

basically a challenge where good IT guys can secure an interview if they can find four lines of code embedded in the website.

I know we have some tech bods here, thought it may be of interest

great thread.

keep posting them vacancies and opportunities lads...

I'm after someone who can plaster a bedroom for a reasonable price. Before hand I need a radiator taking out and then putting back in a different place once the jobs done. Would prefer someone who could do the lot, rather than getting different people in.

I'm in Eccles.

Anyone interested?

My advice for any young folk looking for a job (i.e. Not a lot of experience) is to make sure your cv has lots of interesting stuff in it. Volunteering for charities, sports, anything to look like you can be a team player and a go getter. I see so many cvs for intern positions and activities far outweigh education. Not sure that's any help but ... :-) best of luck !!!

100% this.

I've found that something like a degree probably gets you an interview, but that's it.

After that, its all about what else you have done.

Can recommend the following website for volunteer opportunities. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.do-it.org.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.do-it.org.uk</a> Everything from mucking out animals to befriending elderly people, from assisting at Scout meetings to cutting the grass at the local cricket club, and loads more.
