I am love the Stones, but 10cc are clearly the better song here, even if (for some unknown reason) a live version of that song is used against the studio version of the Stones song. Surely, both songs should be treated equally.
I’m not even that big a fan of the Stones but this post is — well, awful. Shelter was 1969 — three years before Exile on Main Street, widely considered one of the best records ever made. It’s 9 years before Some Girls — another tremendous album. And I’m sure true Stones fans would have plenty to say about the other two dozen or whatever records they’ve done in the 54 years since this came out. And “meandering” is a good word — when applied to “I’m Not In Love”, which is exactly what I assume is the intent.Gimme Shelter is an ok song that starts and ends strongly, but just meanders in the middle. It’s the last throes of the Stones wanting to be a serious band, before their 50-year long fade away into being their own tribute act.
10cc for me.

Nicely tied in there Peace & Love - 10CC is a very enjoyable track, but it does just that, meander.I’m not even that big a fan of the Stones but this post is — well, awful.
