The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

I think you are right that some big beasts will be missing. I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Otis Redding or The Four Tops fail to make an appearance. I wish I'd put OR on my list which was tbh a bit random. We are light on a few genres so far but early days hopefully.

It's also been interesting to see the mix of people choosing big hits vs others picking relatively obscure or lesser known songs.
I 'll put money on the God Father himself , the likes of Sammy Davis Jnr , David Lee Roth ( solo ) and Blood Sweat and Tears missing at the starting gate in this BMC.

Now that some line up missing and I haven't even started.

Don't think we have has any of the artists that appeared at Woodstock appear yet either.

Surely The Who will get a gig.

OK, listen up music fans. An important announcement.

I could construct a wild story in which @BlueHammer85 is too busy swimming naked under the Charles Bridge in celebration of his team's magnificent win in Prague.

However, the truth is that he's preparing to welcome a new member to his family, and he has asked me to take over running the thread for a few days.

The only problem with this is that I can't edit the title of this thread, so maybe one of the moderators @Mad Eyed Screamer , @jimharri can just rename it for me? Something like The Bluemoon Song Cup - Keep an eye on the latest thread updates for fixtures

Anyway, here yesterday's result:-

Not unexpected, but Bruce bossed this tie from start of finish.

Salvatore 10 - 26 Streets of Philadelphia
Congrats to BH85 on both fronts and as good things come in three the thread couldn't be in better hands.

Like losing Dzeko for Haaland.

Sorry BH85 you do a great job but Rob's our best bet to win the big one I hope.

I think you're right about those first 4 and as you say they'll be other huge names missing.

As for Woodstock* artists, think we've had Hendrix and that's it so far. I think The Who is a pretty solid shout and maybe a possibility of someone like Santana or Jeff Beck? This has just made me think about the fact I've never noticed any Deadheads on these threads!

(* assume you meant the original rather than the 99 train wreck!)

Wow what a 72 hours this young man is experiencing, firstly the Wet Spammers win in Europe, secondly his welcomes a beautiful baby into the world, and thirdly, lets be honest the pinnacle, he sees The Jam win in this round of the Bluemoon Cup....

Hope all goes well BH, another mouth to feed. No wonder you are selling Declan Rice

good work

Rob in the hot seat for time being.

hanging today and mrs having c section, be back soon. up the hammers!
All the best, pretty sure the problem was caused by up the hammer. Good luck with the birth, perhaps not Moyes as a name, perhaps something like Bobbie or Billie, certainly not Harry.

Apologies, I can’t edit the thread title.
