Just read on Twitter Liam said he'and Noel will reform the band depending on which way you vote - if you vote Live Forever they will tour Definitely Maybe in it's entireity next year as the 30 year anniversary of it's release

His real name is Noel, I never knew that until recently.

Yes its a bit like Paul McCartney albeit he has no stage name and many an artist preferred their second name

I am a great admirer of Scott's voice , its smooth and effortless like Karen Carpenter but always hits the spot and although a cover No Regrets they gave an edge that Tom Rush's masterful craft work lacked.

I have listened quite a bit to his solo work and still do.

I think when he sings it live with just an acoustic it's a really nice counterpoint to the melodrama of the (imo definitive) walker brothers version.
