The Boxing thread

There isnt too many being totally honest. Belfast is the hotbed being honest. Dublin dont have a fighter which is crazy to think. Also for the life of me i dont see Dublin having a top boxer for a long time. Its mad with McGregor its all MMA mad in Dublin.
So Bray would be home of world Champion Katie Talyor.
Donegal has a future World Champion in Jason Quigley this guy will win 1 in the next 2 years I think. Also some lads fighting in Australlia and will be fighting for World titles in TJ Doheny at Super Bamtamweight is fighting in Tokyo against Iwasa he is from Laois. Also a lad from Kildare Dennis Hogan might be fighting 1 of the Smiths i think Liam Smith.
Ireland are blessed with some talented fighters about. and the fighters are strong. Think we will be hearing about more and more fighters soon fighting for World titles from Ireland but not in Ireland sadly down south.

Also the trouble isnt traveller community it is sadly more to do with gang related issues as in the biggest gang related fueds. 1 of biggest crime gang bosses from Ireland was linked with Macklins gym. A few years back at a weigh in at a hotel 1 guy got murdered from a rival gang and its been like a domino effect. Ireland down south have gone on to ban fighters who have been signed up to the MTK Global formally Macklins Gym Marbella as 1 of gangs bosses was involved with Macklins Gym Marbella and the police over here seem to think they are still involved so no more fights down south for any fighter managed by MTK Global. Sadly it means for a boxing fan like myself seeing some of the better fighters fighting down here is a bit of a no go. Also MTK Global have banned there fighters from giving interviews with any of the Southern Ireland journalists due to them reporting the links of the crime lord to the Macklins Gym Marbella. You could really write a movie about this. Its so crazy. I just hope none of the fighters involved get caught up in this.

There was that shooting few yrs ago in Dublin, can't remember the boxers but sure it was at the press conference.

I know since then the 2 gangs have be going mad and killing guys all over the place. 1 gang knows that the other is heavy into boxing around here so any fights down south the police are all over it but still there does be attempted hits on that gang. It is sad as Ireland do have a really strong bunch of fighters now fighting in the pro ranks.

A bit of background for those who won't be familiar with the ongoing feud in Dublin;

I've read well over a hundred boxing biographies and autobiographies and, having just finished "The Lost Soul Of Eamonn Magee", I cannot recommend it highly enough. Brutal, funny, utterly absorbing from start to finish.

Billy Joe Saunders a bigger trash talker/bigger mouth than anyone around I think.

John Fury a good laugh too

Tyson Fury weighed in at 19.10 after losing 7 stone lol. He still looked fat. Fighting Seferi a cruiserweight who is 15stone wet through and 10 inches shorter. Talk about a staged fight. Really hope Seferi does him.
