The Boxing thread

That was rough for crolla, men against boys, gutted for him as he got really messed up there.
Crolla was a decent fighter never a world class operator but he got lucky by beating a very average darleys Perez to become a world champion which credit him he made his name . But this guy Loma is an elite operator who will win everyone in his weight including. Tank and mikey Garcia very easy . The only way he gets beat is by the weight becoming an issue an even then it will have to be someone we haven’t seen as Crawford is not good enough either.

The problem is now British boxing doesnt really have enough fighters to spread over 3 promotions, BT have the same few Dubois, Gorman etc every couple of weeks and Hearn is trying to spread his stable too thin now half of them fill his USA cards. I can see him begging Crolla and paying him big £££ to stay in the game and fight domestic level fights.

So Jarrell Miller fails another drugs test just weeks after going on the attack at Joshua. Not really a surprise for anyone but looking forward to seeing who they get in at short notice surely it cant be Bryant Jennings?

Dont think they would take Ortiz as hes more dangerous than Miller but Ive heard Michael Hunter mentioned and hes on a great run at the moment although hes quite a small heavyweight (Only defeat was down at Cruiser to Usyk) he did beat the 6foot 5 Bakole

Yeah this weekend there was some good fights Loma is in a league of his own and his easy win over Crolla was predictable. Still want to see him in with Mikey Garica. Think Garcia will cause him some problems. The fight will be more competitive in my opinion than the Crolla fight.
Got to feel sorry for Dennis Hogan fighting in Mexico for WBO Super Wealterweight title watched the fight against Munguia and the lad was robbed on the judges cards. Out boxed the hometown favourite yet lost it on the cards. Even the commentators said it was a poor decision gone against him. Hopefully he gets the rematch at a neutral venue and he wins the World title.

As for future fights 2 weeks time a big 1 in Super Bamtamweight TJ Doheny v Daniel Roman in a unification fight TJ Doheny on the road again after winning the World Title in Japan I wouldnt put it past TJ to beat Roman in his back yard. TJ reminds me a bit of Scott Harrison strong as a ox and with power and good technical skills. Get your money on TJ.

AJ is going to be fighting a bum in the US no matter what. There is no White or Miller , Fury , Wilder. So if i was to have a little bet I would go with Kubrat Pulev just dont get it to have AJ now fighting on that card as there will be a nothing fight now.

I'm quite certain Wilder is ducking AJ now, he is running out of excuses and has made so many contradictions, that it's not even in doubt to me. It's a real shame as that's the fight that should have been happening, before they settled for Miller.

Makes a lot of sense since Pulev is mandatory but there’s a good chance he’ll be banned. Think it will be Hunter myself.

Just read that the substance found in Miller's blood was not steroids, yet so many boxers and promoters seem to think it is. I myself was thinking it was steroids, the way it was reported.

The substance was PPAR which can help with endurance, so more cardio or weights reps... it might have even been a supplement he was taking that had it in. I think we need to distinguish steroids from substances like this, as people are using words like "dangerous" or "could kill someone", when the language should be cheating ****, or corner cutter. Boxing is a dangerous sport to begin with but I believe what he's done here is stupid not dangerous, probably trying to shed weight for the big occasion. He could have done the same without it, with the right attitude is the difference.

Why would he risk the biggest fight of his career for something like that? If it was in something he'd taken without knowing then his team have let him down, which is an even bigger shame.

Seems like AJ wants Ortiz as the first choice replacement which could be interesting. I actually think he might be harder to beat than the Ortiz Wilder faced if that does happen, he wont make the same mistakes.
