The Boxing thread

We are the same we are constantly checking what we have, It's shit. Genuinely don't know how people are doing it. Myself and missus both work and we are always broke. Living week by week to be honest.
Couldn't afford a night at the boxing not even close.
Keep working mate it's the right thing to do even though you probably haven't more than the scabby family who have never done a days work in their lives, and are laughing and sticking two fingers up at you.
Makes my fucking blood boil!

You've hit the nail on the head there mate. That's my issue, We work our arses off and stuck for money, Others happy on the social that have everything, I often wonder who are the idiots here!
But you are right, It's the right thing to do. Especially my two kids looking at myself and missus going to work everyday it sets a good example and means more when you buy something that you've worked hard for.

All you can do is keep plugging away.

Even if you can or can't afford to go to live boxing event. I struggle to understand why you would pay £100's of pounds to see a third fight knowing Tyson would win. CTID

what a shambles for boxing fans ? they were fooled into think it was a contest ? it was a fake WWE tie,
Tyson Fury does not need to do this sort of thing, fans will fall away very quickly if any more fights are staged.

it's not a good thing to fool your fans, but does fury give a shit about them ? don't think so after last night

There was probably a 5, maybe 10% chance tops of a decent fight breaking out last night but people still seemed happy to shell out either to go there or pay the PPV. I haven’t watched the fight as I was never going to tip up the money, but it did sound like a bit of a farce.

As others have said though, there seems to be a decent share of the population at the moment who are just happy to keep spending money like water, regardless of what’s going on with their mortgage, heating and so on. They probably do this regardless of whether they actually have the money or not, and personally I think there’s a cohort who are just physically incapable of reigning in it. So it’s easy money for Fury, and even though people should be pissed off, they’ll probably still be at his next fight even if it’s another stitch up.

Was never going to be a classic.
Chisora happy with the big pay day before he retires.
Fury happy to boost his win record to fool people into thinking he should be mentioned alongside the actual top heavyweight fighters of years gone by.
Chisora did well to hang in as long as he did but fury could have had him out a lot sooner if he really wanted to.

I don't think there are too many in history that would consider themselves big favourites to beat him: his size and skill are a pretty unique combination, IMO.

Chisora was given a sustained beating by Fury who never got out of third gear such is the gulf in class.
Despite the big payday he got I doubt he'll retire unless medical advice insists that he does so. There'll be more good pay packets down the line for good old Del Boy if he wants them.

Interesting that Joyce was involved in the post fight circus. I have a sneaking suspicion that he'll get the next shot at Fury with Usyk coming along after that.
