Great uppercut to finish it, he needs to work on his defensive movement if he wants to be top dog though.
A bit more composure and the defensive movement and he can be top dog, he must do that though imo.

He can't win really.

Destroys people in the early rounds and he's just knocking down bums and has never been tested. Goes 6 rounds with a guy who hit him flush a few times then he lacks a defence and has serious question marks.
I think it's clear AJ is going to make it to the top. Then again I might be bias.

Brutal uppercut. Let's hope he his isn't to badly damaged from it.
I'd like to see less muscle and more mobility from Joshua. Fair play to him but at this moment in time he's no more than a modern day Frank Bruno.

I think Joshua has a lot of potential, good flurries inside, good counters, didn't get caught twice by the same punch. He's obviously listening to the corner and paying attention to his opponent so despite the cockiness I think he'll do ok as he steps up a level or two. Lead feet mind you, and you can't sort that out easily.

True that you can only beat who is infront of you and he can be a better boxer. If anyone else comes up with a bit of skill he is going to have to move his head more rather than kinda freeze and stick his gloves in the way though. It won't be enough to get and stay at the top but he has already done very well for himself.

If you are looking at the fella to fill the top dog spot and rule with an iron fist then he needs that defensive movement. It is not picking holes but just noting glaring obvious issues.
A sharper fighter will exploit that lack of movement.

Personally i wanted him to look like he will make mince meat of that big gob Fury and he looks less than that atm which kinda sucks.

I think thats the first fight in ages where I've come away satisfied. It was a proper fight, went a good distance and what a finish.

Impressive in the end that from Joshua seriously heavy punches to finish it but if people can't see he has so many flaws in his game that he needs to iron out before he steps into a ring with the likes of Tyson Fury then they are kidding themselves.

I hope he becomes world champ one day he could be a very very good one but right now he's 2 years minimum away from a fight with the likes of Fury

It's been nigh on 4 years since I watched a boxing match cos in general, they're pretty naff.

It was only the characters that drew me in for this one. Not even Fury's escapades I could be bothered with!

Speaking of whom, seems to have exceptional head movement, from the clips I've seen, but lacks power.

So, if Joshua learns anything it will be to exact the body punches he was on the end of, tonight and stop planting his legs for every punch.

Really poor movement for someone aiming for a world title.

At least, he's humble enough to recognise he's on a long learning curve.

I like him for that.

if haye comes back to his best.......haye v Joshua would be a cracker ...... both would put fury on his arse
