The Boxing thread

Good effort from Bellew but he was never going to beat stevenson in a million years, superman is'nt just a puncher like he showed in the Dawson fight, but he's also got the skills that were on display in the cloud bout, he beat the guy up! I rate stevenson very highly.

Yes was a weird decision by Bellew. Another crack at a World title and he fails. Saying that I wouldnt be shocked to see him wining a World title Superman wont fight forever. I think when those titles be made available Bellew will be back in title contention. A last hurray. He will get another shot because of Hearn more so than anyone else. Next week a good weekend too. Also next week Sky have Barker in Germany against Sturm. Then to the US for the Macklin fight which is headlined by the brilliant Rigondeaux who was amazing the best boxer I seen live in action.

Yeah some great fights next weekend looking forward to Malignaggi Vs Judah, Trout Vs Lara, Alexander Vs Porter as well as the ones you've mentioned.
Would love to see rigondeaux and carl frampton fight

Im a big big Frampton fan been going on about him since he turned pro. A fight with Rigondeaux no chance just yet. He would put up a good effort but Rigondeaux would box the head off him. To be honest Quigg has more of a chance of fighting Rigondeaux than Frampton as Quigg has the second belt of the WBA title Rigondeaux is the real WBA champion not Quigg no matter how Sky say he is he is the WBAs second champion not there first if that makes sense. Frampton is looking at the winner of the Kiko Marthinez fight again. He is number 1 contender but Kiko wont fight him after the first fight.

Bellew did fuck all, never understand that taking your opponent into 'the championship rounds' when you've done fuck all before then, it rarely works.
Stevenson clearly ducking The Krusher in the post fight interview opting for a near 50 year old BHop or a guy who looked terrible in his last fight and doesn't even operate at his weight in Carl Froch.

Stevenson is a super middleweight, he has only just moved up to light heavy as he couldn't get a title shot at his own weight as he was being avoided.

If he won the IBF off Hopkins and Kovalev fought the winner of the Shumenov fight, then it would be an enormous contest.

Caught the Torres Lemeuix fight this morning. Cant believe he got knocked down 7 times and still wanted to carry on. What happend to 3 and youre out?

Like to see Stevenson V Froch although is unlikely due to Froch wanting Ward and Groves wanting Froch

David Price vacates his british title instead of fighting Chisora in feb. May also vacate his commonwealth belt instead of fighting Lucas Browne

aAnyone see Buncey's boxing hour the other day? Groves was saying Froch is avoiding him, but Froch is perusing Stevenson & Ward. Sorry George but if that's true that is hardly avoiding you and I do fee Groves got a raw deal. I don't want to see Froch in either, Stevenson ends brutally for him, and Ward is a one sided beat down. Anyone else think Froch should just retire, it reminds me of the Lennox Lewis situation post Klitchko. He's proved himself, but the young sharks are circling and it's a matter of time for him.

Im not sure how same age as Froch Stevenson who has beaten a bunch of not very good to decent fighters is a young shark circling him. Also I cant remember Ward beating down Froch in there first fight although Ward is better than Froch, just too silky for Froch's style

Well if you can't remember Froch being beaten down by Ward you didn't watch the fight, he may not have knocked him down like Groves but he stood in front of him for 12 rounds winning virtually everyone of them. That to me is a beat down, don't know what your definition of one is. Sharks ( Plural ) doesn't mean Stevenson specifically, I'm referring to Groves, DeGale, maybe GGG if he were to step up and fight Froch. He showed significant signs of aging against Groves, I don't think his style of fighting is healthy if his reflexes are gone. Can see why he wants a Vegas payday though...

James DeGale is classed as a shark lol. DeGale wont have a chance with Froch. I am guessing DeGale thinks hes the best in the UK but he is still behind both Groves and Froch. I would see Groves now Koing Degale if they boxed again and Froch stops them.
