Could see Terry Flanagan against Crolla soon, and i hope plenty of blues go and support him

I doubt it. The Essex boy spin Hearn nearly shit himself when Flanagan was mentioned. Flanagan would win that easily in my opinion. Sad that the shows are being ruined these days. Love my boxing bit shows at the arena attract the lowest of the low. The moston gangsters on show at crolla. No thanks.

Yes one reason i wouldn't want to go to a crolla show, I train at the same gym as Tommy Coyle he's a great lad, but couldnt be arsed going to watch because of those knobs that would be there.
I think Flanagan beats him, although Crolla showed a different side to him on saturday. Flanagan doesnt have the charisma of Crolla and being on boxnation really doesnt help either.

Quite simply, Flanagan v Crolla has to happen. when has there even been an opportunity to see two world champions from the same city, in fact the same school, attempt to unify their World titles?

Far too often, politics get in the way of making great events, now so more than ever before. During my 35 year career, I have co-promoted countless of events with major promoters in the UK and around the world, including Matchroom so I see no reason why this cannot happen again.

It seems the one stumbling block being flagged up by Matchroom Sport was the issue of the respective fighters rival broadcast platforms, Sky Sports, who televise Anthony Crolla’s fights and BoxNation, who televise Terry Flanagan. To get over this, as Terry’s exclusive Promoter, I am prepared to agree, subject to contract and the commercial terms offered by Sky, that Sky Sports Box Office, can have the exclusive UK broadcast rights to the event to make it happen.

This should ensure that the Sky Sports/BoxNation argument cannot be used as a smokescreen to prevent this fight from happening. I will not make counter offers to secure the event for BoxNation providing Sky Sports Box Office do not offer unreasonable terms.

I will agree to this if the following terms are accurately reflected in a contract:

  • The Event is staged by Queensberry Promotions Ltd and Matchroom Sport Ltd, on an equal 50:50 basis. All decisions regarding the event, including pricing and costs, must be mutually agreed.
  • The Event takes place in 2016 at the Manchester Arena.
  • Manchester Arena’s official ticketing partner, Eventim, receive the sole and exclusive ticketing rights for the event. No secondary ticket agents are permitted to be a sponsor, associate or partner of the event, such as StubHub and the like.
  • Each co-promoter is responsible for paying the purse of their respective boxers (i.e. Terry Flanagan to be paid by Queensberry Promotions and Anthony Crolla to be paid by Matchroom Sports) with an undercard to be mutually agreed.
This is an opportunity for both Terry and Anthony to earn career high purses, along with delivering a huge British unification clash for the fans. There is no reason why we cannot move forward on what are fair and reasonable terms for all involved and get this fight on, that is of course if they want it to.

Contrary to the opinion of a few people with their own agenda, no other fight for either fighter can deliver them the type of pay day and profile that is possible from this event. It has all the ingredients to be a special night and an historic one for Manchester. Two World Champions from the same City, same school and arguably the number 1 and 2 in the lightweight division putting it all on the line for local bragging rights. Add on top of that that one is a City fan and the other United. What more could you ask for?

Boxing fans have called for Promoters to put aside rivalries, egos and personal agendas and collaborate to deliver the best possible fights for the public. Here is the perfect opportunity to do this and I’m playing my part.

I am making this statement public to show boxing fans how serious I am about making this event happen. Neither the fighters, nor the public deserve to miss out on what will be a memorable night for British boxing.

In simple terms, no barriers, no excuses, let’s get it done!

The ball is now firmly in Team Crolla’s court.

Flanagan is ready and I’m ready and our door is open.

Can't say fairer than that, Lets await the response

I think that gets Eddie Hearn is that Terry is the 1 who got away. Terry fought on a Prizefighter and won it outright. He was underdog going into it and he was in the same prize fighter of Derry Mathews and Crolla too beating Mathews in the semi and then beating Gary Sykes in the final he beat Crolla in the the semis. Since then Terry has gone on to become the best in the UK and this has hit a nerve with Hearn. That his rival Warren took Terry on and then onto winning a World title. This fight is the easiest fight to make. Terry team has said they would even fight on Sky it will sell out anywhere in Manchester and has to happen. I think with Hearn he gets bitter at times. See how he was in the build up with Frampton and Quigg dont forget Hearn had Frampton and let him go as he wasnt looking after him. The Banterjuice as Hearn called it really hit Eddie harder than Framptons. As they showed they could go out of Matchroom to a new promotions in Cyclone and go on and get the big fights and win a World title that pissed Hearn right off no wonder it took so long to make that fight as there were too many egos.

Seems like by Hearn they are in talks with Terrys team about a fight hopefully it gets done. Looking at all British fights out there this is now the biggest 1 that can get made. With Fury busy and Khan getting a beaten too its the only really good fight that can happen but can the 2 biggest promotors in British boxing put the politics to 1 side and make the fight is the biggest question of all.

Got to say sad to hear that Matthew Macklin has decided to retire. Was in some wars. Loved his fight against Jamie Moore for the British title will go down as 1 of the best fights for a British title a true war it was. 10 rounds of non stop action between 2 warriors that night with Macklin getting KO'd. Then for him to go all around the world and fight in .

The fight in Germany were he got robbed of a World title against Felix Sturm were Macklin landed 314 punches compared to Sturms 187 yet losing on a Split Decision madly 2 judges had sturm winning 116 - 112 while the other had it 115- 113 to Macklin he was robbed that night.

Never backed out of a fight and fought some great great fighters in GGG and Sergio Martinez but coming up short against the best in his division. So gutted personally he never boxed the other Irish guys fighting in his division at the time in John Duddy and Andy Lee. Enjoy your retirement Mat.

Hopefully nothing bad happens to him in the future.

Does he own the gym in Marbella?

Yeah he does to be honest he is mixed up with a wrong crowd so 1 bad move could be dangerous for Macklin. There is a drugs high player in that gym or involved they MGM Promotions ran a show in Dublin and at the weigh in a guy was murdered. Also Jamie Moore was shot in a case of mistaken identity too so honestly I think Macklin is too deep in to get out just my opinion.

Yes read an article on it. Wasn't sure if the same guy. From what I read sounds like it will end in tears.

Yeah thats what I mean its better the devil you know than the devil you dont. Over here those 2 gangs are doing tat for tat murders since that shooting at the weigh in so many hits are flying about its mad. I hope Mat isnt too involved as these fuckers have no fear.

Was gutted when sky did the program with Macklin, Murray, Lee and Barker but nothing ever came from it. Thought he would have gone after the Heiland knock out, but fairplay going on a win.

Was a good program and sitting around the table the weakest 2 at the time went on to win World titles in Lee and Barker. Got to love Andy Lee out of the 4 of them he was always in good fights. Chin at times is questionable but with his KO power he always had a chance.

Yeah to be totally honest at the time I rated them Murray/Macklin/Barker/Lee more than happy to admit I got it wrong! Saw a rumour last night Lee was going to get a shot at Jacobs for the WBA but its been ruled out today.

Both of them boxed Peter Quillin LEE got a draw and 1 of the KDs for Quillin was questionable. Also Quillin came in over weight too for the fight. The Jacobs v Lee fight would of been great to see Lee also wanted to fight Cotto too.

Channel 5 @ 10pm.

Lee Haskins defends his IBF title against Ivan Morales 29-1(17). Should be decent scrap, Morales is a tough Mexican southpaw who comes from a family of boxers.

It was like a old school reunion in Bolton last night with a few of the old manc fighters, Barrett, Farnell, Hatton, and a couple of others now training . I think most of the Manchester/Northwest boxers won also. Manchester is surely right up there now as a great boxing city again.
