Boo fucking hoo. Some people on here wanted him to lose, so what? It doesn't make them dicks. The dicks were in the crowd supporting him, booing his opponents national anthem and singing about City.

It makes them dicks for calling him a prick or a **** just because he is a rag. He's a Manc. Not only is he a Manc, but he is also a lad who risked his entire career by trying to stop his mates house being robbed, who funnily enough was a blue.

If people are that bitter, that they would rather a Manc lad get beat in a boxing match and in the process call him a prick, then imo thats pretty sad.

Not all City fans are fantastic and not all rags are dicks. Don't judge people just by what football team they support.
 
don't care who he supports i wanted crolla to win, but he was outclassed on the night, linares was too quick and strong, but credit to him for hanging in there to take it the distance.

maybe terry flannagan will be up next for either boxer

Same here. I want all the British and Irish fighters to do well. Sometimes you just have to say the better man mon which was very true in Linares case. I think Terry Flanagan gives him more problems than Crolla did.

It's a shame Flanagan is with Warren/Boxnation because he doesn't get the hype and build up that Matchroom fighters get.
 
Met Crolla through work a couple of times, when Joe Gallagher had his gym in Denton. I know it's a cliche with him, but he's genuinely the nicest boxer around. When I heard the scum singing, I just turned the sound down. Job done
 
Crolla is sound and after years of Hatton let the rags have their day. But he was totally outclassed, gave away the first three rounds without much of a fight and then even when he got on top in the middle rounds Linares was still the one throwing the most potent punches. Linares was pure class, I'd have comfortably given it him by 6 rounds but Crolla was game and deserves a rematch. Sadly he'll only get pummelled again.

Couldn't agree more, which is why I find the clamour for an immediate rematch unnecessary, it would be a repeat. I know why linares wants it, it was probably his biggest payday so a rematch for him is another big payday knowing he's a class above and will win.
I think crolla should fight Flanagan next with the winner having a shot at the title
 
Crolla is a sound lad and a decent fighter. large sections of his fanbase are fucking Wankers though. It's like they've taken to heart everything Hatton did whilst loads being made of the fact he's a blue and are using Ant as their response. Just go and support the fucking boxer and leave the football songs out of it. We never sang about them during Ricky's fights because we were there to watch the boxing.
He'll likely get a rematch for this one but needs to improve on last nights performance.

Great post. I want all the Manchester boxers to do well and Crolla is a decent bloke. Unfortunately some of his fanbase think singing nursery rhymes about City is a good idea. As you say, there were never any anti-United songs at Hatton's fights. Sure, he came out to Bluemoon but it's not an anti-United song and in any case, during his fights the main song in support of him was "Walking in a Hatton wonderland". He galvanised support from the whole of Manchester and beyond and the fact that his fans didn't treat it as a football sing-off played a part in that. Some of Crolla's fans, meanwhile, treat his fights like a Manchester derby.

same here,however you cant blame linares for wanting the rematch,hes got the measure of crolla and has nothing to fear.
 
Got nothing to do with him being a sound lad. He is a class boxer and carries himself well, its the fact he is followed by a set of wankers and held up as a yernited boxer hence im happy he got a good hiding.
 
Those wankers singing their ikkle songs really did a number on the whole atmosphere last night, I think Crolla is an alright guy and a decent boxer, but as soon as those twats started shoutin their mouths of I felt the home advantage was really lost. He wont beat Linares cos he doesnt have the speed to catch the man or the power to really hurt him, its a shame that the last three big title fights involving British challengers have been a mismatch.
 
After the way he acted after the draw and loss he deserves respect. Most boxers would be blaming others, he never has done.

You can't blame him for transferring football support to boxing, little Ricky did it with his WBU belt for long enough.
 
Linares was just too good. Crolla aint nothing speical he has done well to win a World title. Him with Matchroom and the right backing and money means he has every chance of winning a World title again. I look at Joe Gallagher and feel his game plan is poor like with the Frampton v Quigg fight it was the wrong game plan. Crolla is hardy and will come back. I think a fight with Terry Flanagan should of been made before this Linares fight huge money for both men but looks unlikely that will happen. Flanagan v Linares would be a good fight and a close fight and I would favour Terry honestly feel he is the best in his weight class. IF he was with Matchroom he would making a hell of a lot of money.

Also i like Paulie on the commentary last night too way better than Jim Watt.

Apart from the fact that there were no songs about utd at any of his bouts.
