The 2 American fights are good. This weekend with McDonnell and Burns fighting. The Birmingham card isnt great. Matt Macklin and Callum Smith are all fighting on the bill but against nobodies which is sad. Callum needs a test get him in with Rocky Fielding the worst card ever by Matchroom. AJ fighting a bum headlining it. I cant blame Frankie Gavin who was supposed to headline it he is fighting Kell Brook instead. There 30th of May card will be there best card of the year. 3 world title fights a shame it will be on SKY PPV.

I havent even bothered to look at this weekends card, is it even worse than the Geordie bore one from last month?

Matchroom are becoming a joke, it was only a few months ago they charged PPV for Bellew versus Cleverley for fuck sake.

As for the May 30th card, I dont even think thats great. Mitchell/Selby in good fights and if it was Brook vs a live body it would certainly be interesting but instead hes in with a commonwealth level fighter who got found out by Bundu

Well I would compare it to the same as the Geordie bore from last month. They have some pretty decent fighters on it but it seems all are fighting warm up fights.
You have the Yafai brothers fighting both look good like Khalid Yafai he is the flyweight him v Paul Butler would be a good fight but unlikely to happen.
Luke Campbell is due to fight TBA. Matt Macklin v Ferenc Albert , AJ V Brazilian fighter. The only 12 rounder is Sam Eggington v Joseph Lamptey Also Callum Smith fights too. I dont see them showing much of this card to be honest. They will show AJ , Smith , Campbell and Macklin and more than likely show the Burns and McDonnell fights from the US which is a better fights to watch so its not as bad as it should be for Skys Boxing coverage to have the 2 fighting in the US.

Totally forgot about the Eggington fight, should actually be pretty decent scrap that.

Ricky Burns is lucky this referee doesn't seem to believe in following the rules of boxing, otherwise he might be on minus points with the amount of holding and shots to the back of the head he's thrown. He's hit Figuroa in the back of the head more times than in the face, but the referee is clueless. He's given him 5 warnings for holding, while physically pulling his arms off him at least 20 times, yet hasn't taken a single point.

The referee seems to think saying "holding", then giving Burns a slight slap on the arm is somehow an effective way of enforcing the rules. Amazingly, this tactic hasn't seemed to stop Burns holding. The referee hasn't even noticed the 50 or so punches to the back of the head

Golovkin should drop some kgs and give him a go, because he'd definitely accept such a fight right?

GGG has offered to drop weight off to do it. Doubt he could do it for September though. GGG the only one that I can think of that would clock him good and proper and take his shots.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www1.skysports.com/boxing/ne...ayweather-is-gennady-golovkins-dream-opponent" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www1.skysports.com/boxing/news/1 ... m-opponent</a>

Would be interesting. Doubt Mayweather would take it though.

Gutsy by Burns to hang in there for the full 12, in a real scrap with Figueroa, but the reality is that he was fighting illegally for the entire fight and he could easily have had 5 points taken off him. Figueroa has literally no defence, he just lets you hit him in the face and doesn't care, while just barreling in with graft and and a lot of inside fighting. Not convinced either of them has any real future at any level. The referee wa as poor as I've seen

I didnt mind the Burns fight. Burns will continue to hold until the ref docks points. It always happens. The right man won so its all good. We also seen Jamie McDonnell winning in the US Jamie is a very under rated fighter but a good 1. Glad he got the win. Shame Kamedas belt wasnt on the line too as he would have both belts by now.

Hearing that the Manchester Card will be Kiko v Quigg. Quiggs first genuine test at last. We will see if Quigg can take a shot. But also heard whispers that it may not be Kiko and it could well be Chris Alvalos too.

Is anyone else watching DeGale v Dirrell tonight? I want the British fighter to win but think Dirrell will edge it.
