The Boxing thread

Got the impression that Frampton simply out-boxed him in the first half of the fight without doing too much. Quigg came back really well and was causing him a lot of problems so why the hell he left it so late is beyond me.

Draw for me, Halling and Watt should be fucking ashamed with that commentary so one sided

Completely agree. Jim Watt has got form for this sort of bias. Every big fight, and I mean EVERY big fight he picks his winner the day before and tailors his commentary accordingly.

He was a great fighter, a great world champion, but an utterly shite excuse for a commentator.

I'm not sure how Frampton won that. He failed to engage, until he tired. Normally it goes against you, if you continually stick your jabbing hand out. To be fair neither fighter is true world class. One is very slow around the ring, the other simply can't fight at pace for 12 rounds.

It was a good fight and Frampton won easy those first 6 rounds let Quigg down a splidt decision was a bad call listening to Sky is shit Quigg done nothing until the last few rounds. Also how 1 judge called it to Quigg I will never know. Fighting in Quiggs backyard and winning it on the cards is great. A rematch i cant see happening anytime soon Frampton v Rigondeuax I want to see more to see how well he gets on against the best fighter in the division this fight could happen again in a few years time both young. Carl will move up sooner rather than later wants Santa Cruz or Selby both be good fights.

Nothing hit him though, the first four rounds they was just bouncing off his gloves, thought some might have gone down as a draw but it seems they was scored for the busier fighter

I would say he was a clever and brave fighter, who If I remember rightly never traveled outside the UK to defend his title. He was very well managed and unlike Ken Buchanan, avoided Roberto Duran, but did get a lesson from Alexis Arguello who was coming up from featherweight.

I had Quigg by a round, thought the first 6 rounds were shit and Frampton was slightly better in some of them shit rounds, Frampton threw more punches but most of them were blocked. When Quigg started boxing, Frampton was barely holding on with Quigg nearly putting him on his arse in the 11th. How 2 judges had 116-112 Frampton should be questioned more, no way he was that far ahead, not a chance.

Tonight is a s good as it will get for Frampton. He didn't win those first 6 rounds, he sneaked them.
