The Boxing thread

I know I shouldnt say it as it will probably spark a debate......but no heavyweight in this era now would last against Lennox

He was the best imo. Immense. Loved watching all his fights back in the day, even his defeat in South Africa against Rahman when he flew over late after filming in (i think it was) oceans eleven...you could see it was coming, but then destroying Rahman in the rematch.

Not one of these current lot could live with him

Please ignore everything he’s just said ffs... lol

Ortiz is older than my nan, 5 years younger and he’d of stopped ‘the windmill’ quite easily. Anyone who knows a modicum about boxing, knows his style is flawed, he’s just never fought anyone of substance. The one thing he has is great conditioning, however it would be ‘night night’ against Joshua, I’ll take anyone’s cash on it!!

Cheers Zin. Conditioning can only take you so far though eh : )

He’s a top 3 heavyweight of all time, you have nothing to be shy about!

He was immense Zin...pure class. Loved Tyson in his heyday as well - pure brawler style but that could only last so long.

Convinced that Fury is doing a Haye and just coming back for one or two big pay days. Wilder and AJ will murder him.

Not impressive at all from Fury, this guy is a journey man but still a rust Fury should have made light work of this. Unless he wants to go the distance if that is his gameplan against Wilder to win on points

This is enough to put me to sleep. He doesn’t commit to anything Fury, just looks like he’s there to get through it and knows the other guy will offer nothing. Pathetic to watch.

I forgot how shit Fury fights were to watch. He makes me miss Klitschko
The likes of Marciano, Ali, Frazier were much quicker than modern day heavyweights. Tyson (the Mike variety) was a great but a poor rep and bad life decisions after Cus Damato died sullied his legacy.

Boring but he did that full ten rounds for a reason...he has a points win on his agenda against Wilder.

Regarding the state of boxing in the U.S, i am sure it was in a boxing mag that i read in now’s day and age...the old adage of the afro-american that had to rely on boxing as a get out clause from a life of poverty is no longer the case hence why boxing has fell greatly from its pedestal it used to own outright
