The Boxing thread

It's all a little superficial with haye now, don't really trust him, that doesn't negate from what a brilliant fighter he was (maybe still is), it's just he has smelt the wonga imo and returned for all the wrong reasons.

I would of said yes but i am on the fence. Think he is with fresh ideas with Shane McGugian and has got his hunger back for the sport but then again only time will tell. He has made a lot of money doesnt need to fight. I think he is back with a point to prove that he is the best British Heavyweight out there.

How's he the undisputed champion of the world? Ok if he had all the belts but he asnt. He's bet one good fighter who's knocking on and he won't make the same mistake again. Hope whyte fights fury but can't see it happening.
You know that belt is really Furys, everyone knows that. The ibf is the biggest joke organisation anyway. Fury is a millions levels above Whyte so understandably that fight will never happen. If fury beats Wladimir again will you give him credit?

I made that mistake in his fight with Klitch, I expected more as I was such a big fan of his at cruiserweight, heart ruled head if you like.. However, as much as fury out boxed klitch in the first one, he's certainly not in the same league defensively, he won the fight before the first bell, I'm expecting him to get exposed this time, which may open a window for haye!!!
I hope Haye wins the title again too, we shall see.

Haye's first loss was to the cat, he gassed completely after trying to knock the cat out, was ahead on all three cards but the tank was empty, he wasnt badly knocked out though so I wouldnt say that made him gun shy at all.

Carl is one of my mates pal, trained at champs camp (Phil Martin) for years, sad what has happened to him, however, it was more in reference to that having any impact on Hayes career or being 'shot shy'!!

Ahh I see, yeah it wasnt a bad knock out at all, more Adam Booth pulling him out, so he wouldnt have one.

Haye is certainly up there with the best cruiserweights of all time, not forgetting Johnny Nelson and Carlos De Leon, as well as the real deal.

Carl was nails mate, he came through with (master) Ronnie green (who's having a film made about him), both Muay Thai backgrounds... Yeah, Jonny Nelson is ignored an awful lot, unfortunately the glamour of the heavyweight division, coupled with the money, draws in many a cruiserweight!

The Cat certainly was, had one of the most granite chins known to man, as well as the Haye win, a couple against Eubank Snr stick in the mind.

Nelson often stank the place out, but he was the definition of awkward, being unbeaten in 14 defenses means Nelson shouldnt be over looked, what Haye had in spectacular wins and KO's, Johnny had in longevity. Most cruisers so get drawn up to heavy, Johnny himself, even had a failed step up to heavyweight until moving back and proving himself.

I'm sure Canelo's team will set up for such a fight, if he manages to close the ring down, he could blast AK out early. Imo Khans best option is to get quick 3/4 combos off and move & try and pinch the rnds, though easier said than done.Think his defence is better under VH but Canelo throws bombs when he's on you, and Khans chin will get tested, not his greatest asset.
Yeah he's swimming against the tide against Canelo. I'd be surprised if he hears the final bell, but so long as he gives a decent account of himself, he can still have the Brook fight. Another fight where his chin gets tested. It's hard to confidently back him against any solid hitting top class fighter.
