Totally agree - how they have molded him into being a completely evasive target whilst being the aggressor marching towards his opponent is magnificent.I know it's not allowed from some fanboy quarters, to say anything good about Canelo but full credit to Canelo for that performance from me. It didn't surprise me, that as soon as Golden Boy were out of the equation, there was no rehydration clause or any viable excuses for the haters to hide behind. He is simply one of the best boxers of his generation, who always has been willing to fight the best and he's improving with every fight.
Canelo only knew who his opponent was at the same time Callum did. BJS and Plant both turned it down, claiming they wouldn't be ready in time. That for me, is a poor excuse for a top level boxer, who should be living the life of a boxer in between fights. Also, if you believe you're better than someone, then where is the advantage in a slight short notice fight? There is none, most fight camps are around 6 weeks and it goes both ways, both fighters get exactly the same amount of time.
To their credit, both Callum and Joe Gallagher already said they were already training(Callum is always fit, never out of the gym, as it should be) specifically hoping for the Canelo fight because everyone in boxing already knew he was looking to fight the belt holders at 168 to unify the belts. They ended up getting 4 weeks which isn't far off, especially if they were already ready to take the fight.
As for not going to the UK to fight, for what reason? Canelo had a belt, Callum had a belt, one fighter already had a massive size and reach advantage(it was ridiculous how much bigger he looked), so no rehydration clause was a big win for him going into the fight and the other is also giving him the biggest payday of his career. Not to mention Canelo has a much larger fanbase to please and the venue allowed a much bigger crowd than would have been possible in the UK.
Those are all just poor excuses. If you can't credit that win you're just hating at this point.
I’m just ribbing my mate, its more the insistence that Wilder was some Greek god that tickled....So you never got one wrong fella ?

Not my finest hour ha .thought it had gone unnoticed lolI’m just ribbing my mate, its more the insistence that Wilder was some Greek god that tickled....
Unfortunately no he can't win but ultimately he took out his mandatory with a more or less flawless performance and sustained no damage himself so he's every right to see that as a 10/10 sort of night. I haven't listened to the podcast yet but will do at some point.
I'm a bit on the fence about AJ really neither a fan nor a major critic. Last night was fine, I just think he could have stepped on the gas a lot earlier than he did to get it done. That's my only real question mark about it. But bigger picture, there's not really any fight out there for him that can be used as a barometer for what might happen against Fury. So him learning this new style of being a little more circumspect and not unleashing the killer instinct until much later in the fight is all well and good against the guys who just aren't as gifted physically as him but I just feel he will have to undo a lot of this learning when he eventually does get in there for the one we all want to see.
I am going to watch this on catch up. It will be interesting to see what they say about the attempted knee capping of Jamie Moore and whether there are links to attacks on other boxers.Panorama Programme on BBC last night was a good look. About Daniel Kinahan and MGM and MTK. After the links to Kinahan and MTK / MGM were first released in Ireland MGM and MTK put a ban on Irish press from there shows. I wonder if they do the same thing to the bbc with any of there fighters who are with MTK. A good watch a bit eye opening and fair fucks to Barry McGugian for taking part in it too.
Kinahan is getting so much pressure on him now from here in Ireland , Spain and now in the US there onto him wont be long before they catch up with and try and lock him up. The fighters and promotors all love him while everyone else hates him.
Let’s hope you’re right. Far too much destruction and death caused by Daniel Kinahan.Panorama Programme on BBC last night was a good look. About Daniel Kinahan and MGM and MTK.
