The Boxing thread

Good fight and both fighters deserve credit but usyk is elite and every tine Joshua started to get momentum usyk adapted to him . Congrats Joshua for having a good round 9 his best round in 24 but not good enough . As for all your his fury will do this and do that well why don’t we see because usyk has called him out so hopefully fury wants this fight because usyk is no wilder or whyte is this would be fury’s hardest fight by a country mile .

Which he will win

Usyk is an all-time great. To lose to him is no disgrace and Joshua showed improvement from the last fight. He has probably accomplished as much as he will in the game and, simply, Usyk is a better all-round fighter, despite giving away so much size.

As for Fury, he is a different animal. In skill terms, he is way above Joshua - adaptable, creative, fleet footed and unorthodox. In terms of size, he will be 2-3 stone more than Usyk and we know he can go the full 12 easily. I cannot see anything other than a Fury victory - too big, too powerful, and a skilful fighter.

Absolutely horrendous and really puts people off boxing. The Badou Jack fight was a disgrace too. Felt sorry for Zhang as well no way he lost that fight either.

But to score Joshua 115-112 is an absolute disgrace and needs to be called out in boxing.
I thought it was going to be a Josh Taylor, Catererall decision again. I vowed never to watch boxing again after they gave it to Taylor. That decision told me all I needed to know about boxing.

I said the exact same thing along with many other people. It was the only time I've ever seen questions asked about the scorecards. For me that night too Josh Taylor went down bigtime in my estimation claiming he clearly won the fight. Complete shit show all round that night.

Wilder as well.
Wilder would find it incredibly tough against Usky. Usyk wins the unanimous points decision against Wilder imo.
The one thing about Wilder is he has the best one punch power in the division so he's always capable of ending a fight at any second. He only has to be good for one second of a fight, Take the two Ortiz fights for example he git completely out thought and out fought...But that right hand landed on both occasions and it was good night.

Now the world has gone crazy . Wilder wouldn’t even lay a glove on him

Funny how it's always the ones who've never laced the gloves up who always have something to say about professional boxers.

2 elite level Olympic gold medallists. If you can criticise either of these men, make sure you've achieved 1% of what they have in life.
Seriously? You're saying that not having been a boxer (cricketer, footballer, athlete, etc) precludes someone from having an opinion, irrespective of how daft that opinion might be?

It was shocking as was young Hattons result in one of his early fights

Everybody is entitled to an opinion mate, especially paying customers.

Where I do have a problem, is where entitled Brits build up their athletes and performers then break them down again. Everyone will suddenly care again when AJ does a Frank Bruno. He is a human being who has tried his very best and come up short on the world stage a few times.

Not many people in the world could turn up and put their body through what elite performers do every day, nor make the sacrifices they make. AJ has given paying customers in the arenas and pubs some of the best nights of their lives, and won gold at the Olympics for his country. People should have more respect for him as a human being, anybody who's got into a ring at any level knows it's a lot harder than just 'move your head' or 'throw more combos'.

The lad has clearly held the weight of the world on his shoulders for 10 years and it's all got a bit too much. Poisonous opinions cause mental health problems, rich and famous or not. We have an endemic issue in this country amongst young men, and Joe public's behaviour towards other young men is at the root of the problem.
