The Boxing thread

He will. The reality is he is a massive cash cow and at the moment very vulnerable. In my opinion Fury would rather him than Usyk any day of the week. Likewise if I was Wilder I would be begging my team to get a fight with him.

Massive name, massive money and a guy who looks very beatable right now.
This is true, Fury would take Joshua now, then Usyk when the latter is 37/38. He fought VK at 39, it is more his style.

Joshua is finished. Never rated him anyway, He's gone backwards.

Serious lack of head movement and footwork is abysmal.

Franklin needed to let his hands go in the last few rounds buy he was happy enough just to survive unfortunately.

Poor fight.
Think you are been harsh. Regardless of where this ends up, he has had an excellent career, at amateur and professional level. Yes he is basic in a lot of departments, but he is an excellent athlete who when his confidence was up could finish and hurt people.

That confidence or willingness to take a risk is gone and without it he is in trouble.

For Joshua's sake I'd actually hate to see him get in a ring with Wilder or Fury, Whatever sense he has at the minute which is fuck all he will have nothing by the time either of those fighters are finished with him.

His usual shit tonight looking for advice in the corner whilst the fight is on,' He literally had to be told what to do step by step. Nothing comes natural to him.

I've never seen anything like him for lack of head movement and shit footwork.

Franklin was a joke also, Wasn't brave enough to let his hands go. The over hand right was on every single time.
I have to say watching him is like watching Frank Bruno again, the footwork and stiffness, while been powerful and dangerous, definte sense of deja vu.

Yes that would be great, and hopefully a proper hiding awaits the horrible overhyped not right.
Muscle bound and not a natural fighter very much in the Bruno mould and the lack of ability showed last night in his lack of being able to unload combinations and beat this bloke who is never going to be an elite fighter. His inability to dominate fights and finish off his opponents apart from an ageing Klitchko is there for all to see

It's a strange one. He has gone very gun shy. I don't remember this happening to any other major fighter, it is the equivalent of the yips in a golfer. Even in the Usyk fights, especially the first one, he was terrified about getting hit with that left, an when it did hit the legs wobbled. I do wonder if he has lost confidence in his chin or just mentally not prepared to risk another KO.

Until he learns to let his hands go again he is going to struggle. Even Joyce I would fancy to wear him down and hurt him. Amazing to think this is the same boxer who had a firefight with Vlad an got up off the canvas to KO him.

I actually thought about the Vlad fight last night and that was a very impressive win but like you say I’d fancy Joyce strong these days

Jermaine Franklin took some big shots and walk right through them and that is why Anthony Joshua is finished,

Anthony Joshua just does not want to fight, it's like playing on your PS4 and somebody is pressing the buttons
in the corner, in his last 3 fights and the smaller guy took his best shots and went 12 rounds with him.

Franklin is a part-time pro and a good little fighter with balls and a very good chin, he is everything Joshua wants to be in a boxer, Lionheart, Brave, No Fear, Angry, Jermaine Franklin won the fight last night, OK not on the scorecards, but on pure dam right wanting it more than Anthony Joshua,

Tbh he needs to take the fury fight and just let his fucking hands go . Never thought Joshua was any good but unlike fury he doesn’t duck really any fighters . I would imagine the idiot fury has already been on social media slagging Joshua off so cmon Antony throw them bombs and beat him.

Last few fights he's come across a right prick after the 12th round. He looks absolutely gone mentally.

All Joshua is, is a money making machine
for the promoters etc with his good looks and his 6 pack as for being a great boxer fury would destroy him in 6 rounds, ya know wot I min arry just another Bruno but not as good

Couldn't put away an opponent who'd been handpicked to make himself look good.
Joshua doesn't have any head movement and gets tagged easily.
A top class fighter would have a field day with him.
Wilder would retire him if that fight could ever be made.
He certainly doesn't deserve a title shot as Hearn is hoping for.
