The Boxing thread

So, McGregor v Mayweather - we're actually going to do this?? :/

I'm a huge mma/ufc fan but when Mayweather easily wipes the floor with him in boxing it will set the ufc/mma back a decade or more in the eyes of casual fight fans.

Possibly the best p4p boxer in modern history vs someone who has never boxed professionally (how he's got a boxing licence on a 0-0 record?)

Stupid by Dana White for letting this happen. It will set the UFC back decades.

The bank balances won't be too shameful at the end of it though. Boxing matches with unknown / questionable fighters are always the ones with the big draw. It will be the same if Fury ever gets back, people will pay just to see how fat he is.

He's been a World Champion and probably be again, McGregor has never boxed
 
Not a McGregor fan as such, i am a fan of no specific fighter. I would love it if he knocked Mayweather out though just because of the fuss it would cause. When you were a kid you would ask who would win if x and y fought, like Bruce Lee v Arnie. This is one of those type of fights.
 
This is an an absolute fucking travesty. It shouldnt last a minute but floyd is too clever for that and will see him to at least the 4th knowing the backlash he would get by sparking him clean out.
You might aswell watch rocky balboa vs "the ultimate male specimen.the mountain of molt and lust" Thunderlips from rocky 3.
 
McGregor will be funny with the traditional talk, and the build up, but in the ring he doesn't stand a chance. How is this being allowed to happen anyway? I know, money.

OK, McGregor has a decent dig in the UFC, but he isn't fighting boxers. He's going in against a bloke who he will be lucky to land a punch on.

That said, I hope he knocks Mayweather out.
 
As a boxing fan who doesn't like MMA I'll be hoping Mayweather takes it to him and knocks him the fuck out. If he were fighting anybody from the sport of boxing I'd be hoping for the reverse.
 
Looking forward to Kovalev v Ward rematch on Saturday Night/Sunday Morning.
Original verdict was controversial but I just about agree with it.
Good undercard too.
 
Nope it wasn't a dream, this is actually happening.

Only good thing about this match-up will be the trash talk and Conor getting under the skin of solely boxing fans.

MMA fans know he hasn't got a chance in hell of beating Mayweather at boxing.
