For a couple of reasons,the cuts made a difference IMO.

Hooker's length won that. Don't think he hurt Flanagan at all but he had flashes of real quality with jabs and combos on the counter. Flanagan didn't box well on the inside when he got in behind his jab. Wonder how much the head clash affected him, was a shame he couldn't get Hooker out of there in that round.
