The Boxing thread

Good stoppage from the corner there, he'd have been a siting duck for a big hitter that was loading up. I have no idea why price doesn't throw more punches or why he can't use his height and reach. Doesn't seem to be mentally strong enough. Hope that's the last we see of him.

Yeah, sorry for Chisora-Price, but Simpsons did it.

Quality fight that, Taylor clearly deserved the win. He should have had a point off for shots after the bell though, he did it three times at least.

Marvellous fight, fantastic to see two unbeaten guys at their peak in a unification fight just stood in the pocket letting shots go. Doesn’t get any better than that. I had Regis by a round but no complaints. No losers tonight. Take a bow lads.

Josh Taylor keep going the way he is he could end up being the best Scottish fighter of all time. Was a close fight but he was the deserved winner. I wouldnt mind seeing a rematch of the fight myself. Price needs to retire be best for him in the long term.

Dont know if many know over there but Ryan Burrnett had to retire from boxing at the age of 27 winning a few world titles on the way. The lad was so unlucky with a back problems so had to call it a day. Losing his titles to Donaire with a back injury his only defeat. A talented little fighter just hope he made enough money to be comfortable in his retirement.

Two very different cards on TV Sat/Sun.

Saturday night the Manchester Arena card is on Sky with Katie Taylor headlining. She’s a great watch, feisty, all action Irish lass getting a World Title shot. Good depth to the show too, with Cash/Cullen looking a 50/50 fight, Crolla hoping to go out on a win and the Congolese Prince Martin Bakole (From Airdrie) making a quick reappearance.
Good, interesting matchmaking unlike the other televised show where there’s an attractive headliner (Canelo v Kovalev) and very little else of interest to a UK audience.
Think that show will be one to record and watch in the morning.
