Another judge had Dubois 2 up and that was bad enough. The last judge had Joyce up by 2. How can you have a 10 point difference between judges? Yes a lot of boxing is subjective etc but that is ridiculous.

Couldn't agree more mate. And it’s proper snide. I’ve sat in the press seats countless times and the judges can definitely hear the pundits and commentators nearby, so if they favour a certain promoter or fighter then they can definitely sway a decision

Maybe but I think 10,11,12 he would have won comfortably as he was in full control and had broken Dubois’ heart.Imagine if he’d won those last three rounds in most people’s eyes and still lost?!

This is why I've never had much interest in sports that are decided by someone's opinion. For me sport is fastest, longest, highest, most goals, points etc.

So on the list are lots of Olympic events, boxing, diving, equestrian, judo, karate, gymnastics, ice skating etc. The problem is football is heading this way.

I was already, starting to think about it happening, at the start of the 10th.

I know there's different ways of scoring rounds in some fights and Dubois did throw more power shots but that's about the only thing he was doing(not always landing though). He had no jab and no defence(did he slip one jab that whole fight?), so you'd have to be trying to give him rounds by scoring rounds for a couple of power shots that caught the eye but didn't faze Joyce.

Joyce was slipping, riding, jabbing and controlling the distance with his feet. To only give him 2 rounds, I'd like to hear how that judge justified that score card. It's like linemen and refs in football, they never have to justify their decisions.

The people in charge of Dubois need to have a long hard look at themselves. He is a big guy with a lot of muscle, so obviously in good shape but christ he look tired after everyonr those early round flurries.

He definitely has power but why he didn't try to settle/grind out a points win I don't know. His corner should have settled him down a lot more told him to be patient, at times he went head hunting against a tough, fighter with a good jab who was clearly hurting him.

The stoppage didn't look good, fairly or unfairly, he will be criticised for that. I hope he recovers from it, injuries to the orbital socket have ended careers before but he needs more time and seasoning. Everything suggests people were trying to rush him towards the top of HW well before he was ready. On that note Warren was a disgrace in the interview beside Joyce, hope Joyce tells him to fuck off and makes a packet with another promoter.

Yep, hope Joyce took note of that for when Warren comes with a contract offer. Hope Matchroom make him an offer but they might be fully stocked for HWs at the moment, he should make the most of these next few fights whatever he decides. Make as much as you can.

I honestly think Warren has looked at it and gone "Joshua is successful ..........I need to find someone with a similar physique and power and get him as quickly as possible into the mix for when Fury and Joshua are fighting"

They have badly handled Dubois, he really looked badly prepared for what he came up against tonight. Hope he recovers and comes back, he seems like a good kid.
