The Boxing thread

Yet there's nothing wrong with saying that. Just like there isn't a problem with saying the same about Fury. I think there's a few people that are looking to be offended by whatever reasons they're trying to push.
To be clear, for me the issue is I find the reasoning in question to dislike Joshua but not Fury a bit hypocritical. I never had an issue with someone disliking Joshua.

And I'm not offended btw, although you may not have been referring to me of course

It's not being a hypocrite at all. Fury always talks the talk but he backs it up in the ring, On top of that he doesn't pretend to be someone he's not. That's my problem with Joshua, Personally I find him false hiding behind who he really is and I think the person comes out on occasions such as pre Whyte, pre Miller and pre Pulev...He should stop going on like he's this good guy who does no wrong and pretending he loves everyone...

I worded my last post poorly. It was more the you calling him a **** that I took issue with. That's the bit I thought you were being hypocritical about.

But reading your posts I'm starting to think you use that word a little more casually than I would, so you probably mean less with it than I would, for example.

Your reasoning was actually fine. No harm disliking a guy because you don't find him genuine.

Genuinely sorry if I offended you by my posts especially usung the **** word. I do use that word more casual than I should.

Haha no worries. It wasn't really offensive anyway, I think I just got caught up seeing a boxer I like getting railed on and went on the defensive a bit too much. But ultimately I've just misinterpreted you, so we've wasted each other's time and now we get along again!

Just to be clear I don't dislike Fury either. I find him very entertaining for large parts.

Quality. You think AJ is fake but Fury isn't? You think Fury always delivers in the ring but AJ doesn't? 4 of Fury's last 6 fights have been Wallin, Schwarz, Pianeta and Seferi.

Pulev would be the third best fighter on Fury's record. He's the 6/7th best AJ has beaten.

Not the worst fight I have ever watched and at least it didn’t cost me £24.95, must be £100’s of pounds in profit now with my equipment.

When I watch modern heavyweights I always compare them with the greatest M. Ali and they all fall far short.

No fought for almost 2 years and getting on now.

I don't see it happening personally as Buatsi is looking forward not backwards, unless Johnson is mandatory?
Don’t think it will happen because of the Hearn - Gallagher issues but it’s a shame. Seems a proper wasted talent Johnson. With a bit more confidence he’d have sparked out Beterbiev.

Does anyone do this with any other sport?

Mayweather v Pacquiao never happened when it should have. That was a travesty to the sport. It’s like the Premier League ditching the final day of the season when the league title is on the line because the money men are too involved and the two teams going for the title are scared they’ll lose.

Like Johnny Nelson said last night, the show business side of boxing is huge but the business ruins the show too often.

Fury v Joshua has to happen next year. In early August just before the Prem season begins would be ideal, at Wembley.

But will it?

It would be the biggest British fight since Benn v Eubank. With it being the heavyweight division, possibly the biggest of all-time, and the biggest heavyweight bought since the Lewis-Holyfield-Tyson fights.

I’m not sure what Joshua seems to want. Has he ever openly said that he wants the Fury fight? He would never have fought anyone like Fury before so to be cautious is a good thing, but to not seem up for it plays further into Fury’s hands.

Most definitely a shame too many gone the same way and more will follow such is the industry

Sorry to be that guy, but you appear to have mis-spelt Jack Johnson........... ;-)

Bloody hell even I am not that old. I did watch Terry Downes fight Willie Pastrano at the King’s Hall Belle Vue back in 1964, great fight and Downes very unlucky to lose with referee stopping the fight when he was miles ahead on points.

Quality you think Joshua is in the same bracket as Fury. You go on like Joshua has beaten all the top boys. Like who?? A old Klitschko, A shit Charles Martin, A shit Dylian Whyte, Eric Molina?? Stop going on like Pulev is something special fuck me, Klitschko put him on his ass about 6 times in 5 rounds. Wilder would KO Joshua, Fury would toy with Joshua wouldn't even be a contest.
Sooner the better this fight happens to set the record straight on Joshua on how far off he is from Fury.
