The Boxing thread

Brilliant for boxing f they are finally going to get it on. I like them both a lot and think tyson will beat him, but really just hope its a good fight.

I suspect it will be a show and they'll win 1 each. Agreeing a 2 fight deal outright just stinks of some sort of agreement.
I cant see that. Both are very capable of losing this fight. Both have recent experience of losing - so it makes sense to agree to 2. And no doubt if they win 1 each there will be 3. It will most likely be the pinacle of both careers. If it's Fury then it validates his place among the top names and if its AJ then it sets him at that level and given his age he could go on to be one of the greats.

I'd like AJ to win. But boxing needs this to be a good fight.

I wonder what weight they'd both come in at? I reckon Fury might come in heavy to help him out on the inside and in the clinch.

Campbell Hatton is fighting on the undercard of Whyte vs. Povetkin 2 this Saturday. He is managed by his dad Ricky and trained by his uncle Matthew. Making me feel old. He looks and fights like Ricky.

he needs moving very very slowly, ive seen a few of his amateur fights on YouTube and he’s not very impressive
It’s a lot different doing an impression of how his dad moved on a heavy bag to being able to execute it in the ring, the fights ive seen he’s absolutely nothing like his dad
Best of luck to the lad I just hope he doesn’t get rushed cos of his name

Judging by his opponent on saturday I doubt hes getting rushed anytime soon, they wont even put him in with a Kristian Laight type yet.

yeah he struggled in some fights.

Just hope the Hatton surname doesn't spoil things for him

Think we're going to see ability closer to Matthew Hatton rather than his dad. Do feel for him as the pressure is incredible. Seems to have head screwed on and not seen any suggestion he has beers/bad habits etc, so if he trains like his dad he'll probably blossom mid-20's and get to European level - which is an acheivement in itself. Hope he makes as much money from the sport as possible and comes out safe the other side.

Despite his red allegience and being in the shadow of Ricky, he can be proud of his career - getting in the ring with Canelo and Kell and getting to the end of that 12th round is pretty impressive. However, he was never an entertainer. Used to love those undercards where it'd be Gomez, Farnell and the two H's.

Haha every single show seemed to be that crew and Michael Jennings on the undercard. Anbit like James and/or the Waltons being the support band for every single gig in Manchester between 1985 and 88
