The Boxing thread

I just hope that this is a genuine contest, and not some pre-arranged WWE-style charade. If it is, then I hope that Fury pulverises him, simply to help to put an end to the nonsense that a YouTuber is qualified to build a boxing career without any of the hard yards.

But what makes Tommy any more qualified other than being brother of Tyson? No real amateur background and an 8-0 record built on nothing fights. I've never seen Jake Paul box so I have no idea on his level, but I've seen Tommy box his limited opponents.

It is the attention that Jake Paul gets, despite his obvious limitations. As for Fury, you are correct, but before this fight, he barely had any attention, and quite rightly given what you correctly say about his own career.
 
Tommy Fury was featuring in the boxing mags (monthly and weekly) when he was turning pro after no real amateur career due to Tyson and Hughie. Even though Campbell Hatton gets the same, Tommy isn't even at that level. If he was a serious boxer he would be fighting at 175, moving up to 200 so early showed it is a side-line for a poser.

Pitty they both can't lose.

Tbf the way the Wbc/matchroom have handled the benn situation makes the whole sport a mockery. At least these two haven’t been eating copious amounts of eggs

Think it would be genuine as it would define both boxing careers who ever loses this they have no future in boxing

They will still have plenty more revenue streams.
They both make a fortune from their social media activities, Paul is becoming a top promoter of fights and can always do some WWE work.
Fury has fewer options but I'm sure he'll get by when he gets exposed as a piss poor boxer by Paul or someone else.
I actually think Paul will win this.

Says something when I'd prefer Paul to win. Claiming to be the 'boxer' of the two fighting cans with a combined record of 24 wins to 176 losses and 5 draws. Yes Paul's record is primarily fighting older MMA fighters but at least they are all recognised fighting men and would wipe the floor with Fury's binmen opponents.

I said this about 12-18 months ago when Tyson got involved in the WWE that it'll probably end up with some ridiculous tag-team event with him and Tommy against the mop haired yank cunts. Then the other one (Logan or whatever he's called) goes and does some WWE too. Pretty certain it'll unfortunately come to fruition now. Call me a cynic but could see some staged argument in the crowd between Tyson and Logan in the crowd tomorrow night to gain some interest.
 
The sadder thing is hearing Carl Froch giving out about Jake Paul he doesnt need to do it. So we could potentially see Jake Paul v Carl Froch now I loved Froch as a fighter boxed everyone and anyone. Just stay retired you dont need to get in with this circus act.

They are going to need a new script it looks like. I can totally see this being real to which is pretty sad. May just be a prank but i would not be surprised one bit.

Thing with froch though is he wouldn't piss about with the pantomime and would just knock him out on the first minute.

Reminds of the time Mayweather v McGregor. People genuinely thought McGregor could beat Mayweather! Mayweather was silly odds in the bookies I lobbed on Mayweather that night and I'll be doing the same on Sunday.

Crazy to think they have Jake Paul as favourite. Don't get me wrong, Fury isn't any world beater by any means but he's a hell of a lot better than Jake Paul ffs.

I'd put your Lara winnings on the draw. The amount of money that is being made will guarantee this and a rematch for all to make more money in what is a joke of a fight to be honest.

Oh aye, absolute nonsense but it is funny when i think of the farce that is these youtubers boxing. I have a mental image of Bricktop telling one of the managers their man goes down in the 4th though or similar, that kind of rigged fight i could believe. Especially if it led to a lucrative rematch.

It's daft, aNd I couldn't care less who wins etc, but they better not be choreographed cos I've got money on Fury to win in round 1, and if he doesn't I'll cut his Jacobs off
