The Boxing thread

He must be getting paid a fortune for this shit.

Ideally (IMO) Joshua flattens the muppet in such a way that he never wants to step into the boxing ring again.... Then Joshua announces it was his last hurrah and he sails off into the sunset and we never have to have the pleasure of his insufferable fanboys again.

I’ll have to watch this out of sheer, morbid curiosity. The boxing equivalent of rubber-necking.

In theory, if he’s taking this seriously, Joshua could severely damage this guy. My spider senses are tingling though and it’s got ‘fix’ written all over it.
He won't be allowed to do him any damage otherwise he wont get his 50 million or whatever it is he's earning for this scam.

It needs to be banned. It completely ruins boxing as a sport. If AJ doesn't knock him out in the first minute then it's been fixed. But if you can make £70m from it or whatever is the pot, you'd rather make it a close fight so you can have a second and then a trilogy fight and make £200m overall.

Meanwhile the sport of boxing is completely tarnished because people feel the whole sport is fixed in the same way. The Benn v Eubank nonsense was exactly the same, but at least they're both professionals.

Close the Book
Boxing needs to get hold of its sport and bring it in line and stop all this bullshit of YouTube and Network fighting
Look, it's Panto season and all that, but this is a joke Paul vs AJ, stop this shit right now before somebody gets killed or even worse becomes an even bigger name than Boxing ?

Boxing is a sport that has life skills and respect built by many great fighters

I'm no fan of Joshua but I hope he knocks 7 bells out of this Jake Paul, that's if there's no knockout clauses which wouldn't surprise me with the way boxing is heading.

Jake Paul is getting 92 million for it. Call him what you want but he's a bloody genius on what he's created. Fair play to the ****.

First time ever I hope he fucking flattens "AJ" won't happen but stranger things have.

It's Joshua's biggest pay day of his career as well apparently.

Tells you all you need to know about the current state of boxing.

Human beings have always fluttered with the "freak shows" ever since they became a thing. This is the modern version.

92 mill won't mean much if he's walking sideways for the rest of his life..or worse. Fights like this for me disrespect all those who have suffered injury and death in the ring. Even if it's a scripted performance, one flash of anger could place the whole sport under a microscope, and farces like this will one day end very badly.

Paul has been been training for years now and got the right dieting programme, bla bla.
AJ will win, but won't be a easy knockout. 8 rounds.
It is an 8 round fight, correct.

I certainly doubt it will last 8 rounds, and I think Paul may come to his senses and find a way out.

Ngannou was deluded after fighting an unfit Fury and his Joshua fight certainly wasn't scripted, but then Ngannou wasn't promoting it.

I know it's a load of crap, and I don't like seeing women wounded on the undercard in the name of equality with persistent head butts, but it is on Netflix so I'll probably still watch it even if it is on "tape delay" later in the morning.

It would be good to see Joshua v Hughie Fury though instead.

Tyson nearly forgot about the ‘for fuck’s sake, do not knock him out’ clause a few times.
