The Boxing thread

Tyson nearly forgot about the ‘for fuck’s sake, do not knock him out’ clause a few times.

He was too shattered to throw a punch after the first minute. It would be a very different view side on.

In response to an article by an esteemed boxing journalist who justified the Joshua slapfest on the grounds that it would secure his financial future I commented, after the amount he has earned in his career to date did he really need it. I commented I had lost track of the price of fried chicken. This was deemed offensive by the BBC and the comment was banned. Make of that what you will.

What was your reason for referencing fried chicken out of interest?

That's a stereotypical reference to black people, as you were probably aware, and can be construed as a racist comment.
Why didn't you go the whole hog and back it up with a watermelon drink and banana's?

That's sarcasm by the way before anyone gets offended.

To use Joshua' s own words

'If you think I'm a racist, go f*** yourself':

Unless you can provide some additional refence that shows otherwise that is quite clearly a racist comment, well done bbc for not tolerating it.

Clearly in your own mind. Are the French racist when they call us les rosbifs. Look up Joshua's heritage and dietary preferences

This was the best one:

I remember the outtakes which showed Knoxville was foaming at the mouth and they were worried about him… that is what would actually happen if a non-boxer ever got in the ring with a boxer and the boxer really tried.

I be honest Netflix in Boxing is a good thing and long may it continue. A lot of promotions are struggling for TV deals look at Top Rank in the US. Sky Sports bo live boxing in months these 2 have always shown boxing and some great fights over the years. Boxing not the draw it once was you need a story to make the big bucks. Hence Jake Paul's fighting AJ. I'm guessing that the undercard will have some good fights on it. Boxing needs a refresh and I think it's going to happen. I be interested to see how the BBC do over the weekend. With there first live fight in years. It be great to see them focusing more and more on free to air fights than others. Ideally they get a few Olympians and promote them long term.
