The Boxing thread

Are you 100% on the result mate? I think everyone on the planet knows that a decent smack from Joshua puts Paul into a coma, but the "has he been paid off" aspect makes it a spectacle that the governing body that sanctioned it should be investigated for
Yeah 100% on the result. AJ wins it's just how it happens. If AJ doesn't knock him out in the first round then there is some sort of collusion going on. An "injury" might happen that stops the "fight", or something along those lines.

I watched an interview with AJ and he was asked, are you going to hold JP up? His reply was not longer than I have to. He then goes on to say how he's never knocked anyone out in the first ten seconds, and how you have to wait for the opportunity. It just seems like strange language about a guy who he could basically walk through.

As much as Joshua will likely to comfortably win - I do think Paul’s probably being trained up by the best in the world, going through all the correct training protocols, been constant weight, gym etc - surely after 5 years? Of doing that he’s got a chance to compete. It’s probably the equivalent of Barnet v a top PL side , in a cup competition 9/10 PL side wins, but it’s not often 5-0 as many would expected, often tight/boring 2-0 win … or a shock.
Jake Paul is not even an English title level Cruiserweight and he's going up against a 2-time heavyweight champ, who is still active and in peak physical condition.
This is like Treble winning City against Oldhams under 18s women's team.

It's not a fight though, is it? It's an exhibition. I'll bet a million quid that there's all sorts of clauses in the contract about what Joshua is and isn't allowed to do, because if this was a genuine fight, we all know that Paul would be on his arse within 10 seconds and not getting up again. Kinda like this one:

That's not an accurate comparison though. Firstly Jake Paul is a better boxer than Ngannou and secondly Jake isn't just gonna come wandering over to AJ square on, he'll get on his bike.

I have never been a fan of Joshua at all. Think he is very selective to be honest. In Netflix entertainment style, this will probably be Joshua's win with no KO.
