What a performance from Callum smith WOW.
Smith has every chance of dominating the division, but somehow when you hear Eddie Hearn say it, it becomes unbelievable, he's such a spiv.
I agree mate. That was impressive . I'd like Callum to smash the two cockney gobshites, Degale and Groves. I think he can clean up that division in time, before he moves up to light heavy. The Smith Bros are really are a truly great boxing family and it would be some achievement if 2 or 3 of them become world champions.
Brilliant news about Blackwell hopefully the lad makes a full recovery.
As for the weekend fights. I know Luke Keeler well and I dont know what he was playing at. Great start jumpped on Doran then got caught silly. Packie Collins was fucking pissed at the end of it as the start was good and if Luke would of mixed it could of broke Doran down. Dont get me wrong I think Luke will get on a few more cards on Sky Sports and I wouldnt be shocked if the 2 meet again but he needs to learn from this he cant afford another defeat.
Rest of the card was good it was a good card. Like Rocky the guy is a warrior and a good fighter got caught cold against Callum Smith. Who has the potential to be the best of the brothers of the lot of them but I got a feeling a certain George Groves and James DeGale may well have too much for Callum I think he might win a World title may not win it in this weight division. I think Badou Jack v Lucian Bute is set and feel Bute will win it. Groves was unlucky against Jack the knock down won Jack the fight.
Agree, i think Martin Murray or maybe even Felix Sturm (although he would never travel) ares great learning fight for him and after that maybe Abraham or even Bute. All 4 would be great for his development and profile, and all 4 would potentially be exciting as they'd likely stand with him.Callum is good but he has yet to be tested he goes into a fight with Groves , Degale or any of the champions next fight he wont be ready for them and will get beaten. Feel Hearn can make either the DeGale or Groves fight next for Callum but he will not do so. Garantee it will be a warm up fight then a title fight with whoever it is who is the WBC champion
Yeah i agree, the only reason i mentioned it was because of his frame and his size and i just wonder how comfortable 168lb will be for him another year or 2 down the line. He's a big super middleweight.I think Callum would get eaten up at 175 with the likes of Kovalev, Stevenson, and Ward. For now anyway seems happy at 168 and with plenty of decent fights out there no need to move up.
I think any fights with Callum can be big money earning fights. Have him fighting Murray , Groves maybe DeGale it will all go into the same way of a big earning fights. As for the contenders in the Middleweight division in the UK you could well get 1 more with a title and have a super 6 tournament based in the UK. Could you imagine if they had 2 world title belts to finally find out who is the best UK fighter in the division. Ideally you would have CEJ and Billy Joe Saunders moving up from Middle to form the Super 6 out of Groves , DeGale , C Smith , Rocky Fielding , CEJ and Billy Joe it would be brilliant for the sport. Could have all fighting on the same night the 2 world champions against the 2 bottom ranked fighters and then then other 2 fighting each other. So it could well be a line up like this.
DeGale v Rocky Fielding , Billy Joe v Chris Eubank Jnr and C Smith v Groves.
