The Boxing thread

For a casual fan like me boxing is just so boring these days, painful watching under cards and even the main fights dissapoint more often than not. Ufc is 100x more enjoyable to Watch for me atm.

Anyway, staying up for the ward kovalev fight, hoping kovalev can ko him!
 
That's a draw? How can you even take this sport seriously hahahaha at least it's the main fight next
 
Close fight but I think kovalev won. Threw more landed more and with that KD should've taken it. Razor sharp decision though for ward 114-113 on all three judges scorecards.
 
Ward v Kovalev will have to be a rematch I will end up watching it all when i get home as some rounds were close to call if the fight went either way I think the other fighter would of been disapointed but with Ward winning this fight will happen again a draw for me on first viewing live would of been fair.

I think Kovalev nicked it by 1 or 2 due to he was the more active fighter. Kovalev isn't happy because all 3 judges were American.that can't be fair surely?
 
Looks like big money sponsorship won out, a Russian v an American hero is Las Vegas, always open to be robbed.
 
Kovalev won it by three rounds for me, he did everything right and ward got a bit of success in the later rounds but was nowhere near winning it. Thats vegas and sadly it will happen again and again the undercard was even worse with Perez getting shortchanged after he chased that scared kid Hooker around the ring and lost on points.
Ward will never fight Kovalev again as he aint got enough in his locker to beat him fairly, I just hope Kovalev can get his belts back once Ward drops back to his division cos he aint got the power at light heavy.
 
Think I had 6-6 with the knockdown giving it to Kovalev but it was hard to score and could have gone either way. I tend to think Kovalev threw it away a little bit. He was hurting Ward every time he landed in the first 3 rounds but he seemed to step off the peddle a bit. Once he slowed down he looked a bit ponderous. That's the flattest i have seen Ward. His timing was off and he looked totally forced and uncomfortable for the first 5 rounds. I genuinely thought Kovalev was going to tank him out early after the knockdown. A rematch has to happen. I think I would slightly favour Kovalev purely because there's no way he'd want to leave it in the judges hands again. That said, fair play to Ward for coming through adversity and winning. He did proper steal it though and that's Kovalev's own fault for letting it happen.

Kovalev wins that anywhere outside of Vegas with impartial judges, everytime...

You may of had it 6/6, how does that justify the judges with a 3 round swing on each card??

Disgraceful decision and as corky states 'big money advertising' wins through.... This is exactly why people are turning off, corruption to the core!!!
 
Think it was a correct decision tbf. Kovolev nicked the first four or five rounds but after that Ward edged it with scoring punches. A very close fight which i'd like to see again and think Kovolev would need to stop Ward which could set up a 3rd fight between these two great fighters.
 
Looking forwards to Saturday. Williams, Flanagan and Saunders amongst others. Do pubs in town show Box Nation?
