The brilliant Professor Brian Cox (Ex DReam)

For a surprise 70th birthday present for my wife we spent 2 nights away in York last week and I managed to purchase tickets for the outstanding Physicist Professor Brian Cox at The Barbican.
WOW what a brilliant show with a screen larger than a cinema one, and the pictures and videos of our Universe was breathtaking.
Great talk about our Planet with our other Planets, Black Holes,The Sun, The Solar System, just about everything and he certainly came across as a very down to earth person. Well he would be ... seeing he studied at Manchester University.
For any of you out there who enjoy the mysteries of the Universe then a well worth experience and he`s touring all over the UK for most of this year.
Highly, highly recommended.
Did he ask you about your personal experience of what life was like just after the big bang occurred?

Back in about 2007/08 I was about to embark on studying physics at university. One night I got really drunk on cheap Tempranillo and looked him up on Manchester University's website - I saw that he had a faculty email listed. I thought it would be a great idea to drop him an email as if we were old pals to ask him his opinions on how long it will take for us to build working nuclear fusion reactors. He didn't reply. I don't blame him.

This may provide some insight into why I didn't get a girlfriend until I was 27.

I like him, but as a physics undergrad from Manchester who studied at a university away from Manchester, the relentless "oh so you're like Brian Cox" got old quite quickly.
