Perhaps seat belts are unnecessary when one reigns over the other drivers. They should wear them abroad though.None of the royal family wear their seat belts.

It’s true. They don't wear them, so they can exit the vehicle quickly. As they have a police escort in most instances they aren't at much risk of a collision.
Diana likely most likely acquired the lack of wearing a seat belt from the royal family.

Can't remember when exactly the no sick jokes clause was inserted in the rules, I'm sure it wasn't there 9-10 years ago.
