The British Monarchy

Genuinely insane behaviour. Add to that all the cancelled hospital appointments too. Fucking nuts this country.
Saw your tweet earlier that included funerals.

My wife is still doing a funeral on Monday. All existing funerals will be honoured, but no new ones will happen on Monday.

They wouldn't anyway, should someone die this week, it’s too close.

Well you couldve just said that!

And at the risk at coming across as a smart arse … roubaix has posted a link with a poll at 62%
Polls are only believed when they confirm your thoughts though.

Politicians always say this.

I’m sure some polls predicted 62% remain too ;-)

(good shout though!)

Yeah of course. I get that. Still think the general public vote would be more Yes than on here.

Opinion gained from when we have gen elections, on here polls would have a labour landslide. Just reflects the left leanings

Ps. Wasnt saying it was good or bad either way

There has been a massive misunderstanding by some parts of the country about how important the monarch dying is to everyone. I think it's fascinating that we saw it on here first, where some posters just couldn't comprehend that anyone could think about carrying on with life as normal on Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Now we're seeing organisations making major missteps and getting absolutely battered for it in public.

These kind of things are only making people dislike the monarchy.

That first one makes my f*****g blood boil. "I'm sorry kids I wasn't able to get the food today because the fickle nation are coming to a standstill to mourn the death of a privileged old woman who never knew the definition of hungry."

I fucking detest them.

It is not the monachy fault that businesses are closing on monday , it is ludicrous to suggest it is , the businesses etc are making their own decisions

I think royalism is as strong as it ever will be at this point. The Queen has done an amazing job for an incredible amount of time.

Charles doesn’t seem like he will have the same gravitas, but only time will tell.

It will be interesting to see what the % of pro monarchism will be following Charles’ reign.

I’m sure they could pick up extra food on their previous visit to cover the one day closure.

I didn't say it was the monarchy's fault.

By the way, you'd save everyone a lot of time if you just read the posts you replied to. 80% of the time you reply to something that wasn't said.

Yep I voted indifferent, I respected the Queen and her role so didn't mind the Monarchy with her in charge, she was the best diplomat we had and was respected around the world.

I don't give a fuck about the rest of them if people want to act like peasants from the 10th century saying long live the king then be my guest but I won't.

Be nice if they put Andrews head on a spike on London Bridge though.

I voted indifferent too. Whoever is head of state, elected or not, is likely to be the wrong choice for the U.K.!

I wonder what the protocol is called for Charles death.

Hammersmith Bridge?
