Charles having a bit of a tant at St James's Palace, looks a bit pissed off with all the ceremony.
Yep getting a bit tetchy isn’t heCharles having a bit of a tant at St James's Palace, looks a bit pissed off with all the ceremony.
That's the point - the crown once "owned everything", now they have used the country's resources over many generations to become fabulously wealthy - but the "profit" you're talking about doesn't come from their private property - it comes from property the state owns. It’s not “everything” is it?
Everyone owns private property in this country
Crafty bastard… it’s how I get mine to be fair lolHe got two new fountain pens out of it. Both in his suit pockets lol.
Agree, it’s an academic debate.Whilst I would probably be for inclusion of the royal family in any top down review of government and politics, my impression is that they are observers of the political process other than meaningless ceremony. If they are indeed heads of state and overall protectors of the nations values (Charles words yesterday) Who, if not they, should be capable of applying checks and balances to a government hellbound in driving U.K. off a very high cliff? The answer is not the House of Lords. It’s a moot Point as no review will take place and I fear we are doomed to diminish further.
Let’s not forget he is still grieving for the loss of his mother. All he we want to do is be with his family but royal protocol means he can’t . We are watching. History atmCharles having a bit of a tant at St James's Palace, looks a bit pissed off with all the ceremony.
I’m not sure that’s entirely historically accurate. That's the point - the crown once "owned everything", now they have used the country's resources over many generations to become fabulously wealthy - but the "profit" you're talking about doesn't come from their private property - it comes from property the state owns.
He’ll be in quite the juxtaposition of grieving and also nervous/excited that his entire raison d’être in life has finally begun alongside the duty of expectation and getting things right in all these ceremonies.Let’s not forget he is still grieving for the loss of his mother. All he we want to do is be with his family but royal protocol means he can’t . We are watching. History atm
He is looking his age and truth be told would rather not be the king but this is what he was born to do so he must now rake up the mantle .He’ll be in quite the juxtaposition of grieving and also nervous/excited that his entire raison d’être in life has finally begun alongside the duty of expectation and getting things right in all these ceremonies.
Let’s not forget that he’s pretty old too.
To be fair, the table they used for signing the documents was far too small.Charles having a bit of a tant at St James's Palace, looks a bit pissed off with all the ceremony.
So you're happy to debate the semantics of whether a King owned all his lands in the 10th Century, but still think the Royal Family are producing a profit due to the Crown Estates "ownership"?I’m not sure that’s entirely historically accurate.
The crown could seize property and whack up taxes as much as they wanted but they didn’t directly own everything, certainly not post Norman conquest.
I think he wants/needs to be king. As you say, this is what he was put on earth to do.He is looking his age and truth be told would rather not be the king but this is what he was born to do so he must now rake up the mantle .
Totally agree, heads should roll.To be fair, the table they used for signing the documents was far too small.
Ironically, placing the two decrees, fountain pens and ink wells on the table meant that the one thing you couldn’t do easily was sign the documents.
No need for him to suffer fools.
At least years ago tv wasn’t around so nobody saw anybody looking a twat in them but now they are on full show to the world .Those fucking uniforms!
Well my firm will be pissed off but fuck emApproved bank holiday on day of funeral
