The Budget 2021

Thousands upon thousands of furloughed employees will find they've got no jobs to go back to when the furlough scheme ends as this Government has repeatedly ignored calls to support small Ltd Companies with the inevitable result that many of them will be forced to liquidate later this year.

Fuck you Rishi.

I misread him at the start and thought he was OK, But Sunack is a disaster.

A lot of money spent on covid, it will need to be paid back in the future, we all know that. The low to middle income eaeners the ones expected to pay the bulk I see.

  • Personal income tax allowance to be frozen at £12,570 from 2022 to 2026
  • Higher rate income tax threshold to be frozen at £50,270 from 2022 to 2026

Oh come on be fair if you have just bunged yer mate £150m to secure useless PPE he clearly won't have the cash to pay hardly any tax surely !!??

Ahh wasn't sure. Couldn't imagine Restaurants etc amending menus 3 times in the next 13 months of so to reflect the 5% 12.5% 20% changes.

They haven't (in my experience) and they won't.

It's been crucial for them when you consider that food they buy in is zero rated for VAT but most of what they sell has VAT on it.

To me he comes across as a mouth piece for the Treasury - a puppet who simply gives voice to other peoples opinions.

Yep, he largely is.

He also is more than happy to prey on people's ignorance about business. The majority of the public don't know the difference between being self-employed and being a Director of your own Company, therefore when they hear that the self-employed have been given help (which they have in most cases) they assume that means everyone. He goes out of his way to avoid answering any questions about this.

He's really popular with my friends & family who have been furloughed and, until I've put them right, they have all assumed I'd had the same help as the self-employed. Some of them even now insist I must have had some help!
