The Budget 2021

Yep, he largely is.

He also is more than happy to prey on people's ignorance about business. The majority of the public don't know the difference between being self-employed and being a Director of your own Company, therefore when they hear that the self-employed have been given help (which they have in most cases) they assume that means everyone. He goes out of his way to avoid answering any questions about this.

He's really popular with my friends & family who have been furloughed and, until I've put them right, they have all assumed I'd had the same help as the self-employed. Some of them even now insist I must have had some help!

He's the "idea's man" just the thing is they aren't his idea's lol

A lot of money spent on covid, it will need to be paid back in the future, we all know that. The low to middle income eaeners the ones expected to pay the bulk I see.

  • Personal income tax allowance to be frozen at £12,570 from 2022 to 2026
  • Higher rate income tax threshold to be frozen at £50,270 from 2022 to 2026

Less than two thirds of what was used to bail out the banks .... we didn't borrow a penny for that but because its not their mates now it all has to be paid back ?

Absolutely staggering they have extended furlough until October.
A sure sign to me that they are anticipating another lockdown in a few months.
Makes little sense otherwise.

It does make sense. Time is needed for businesses to start earning again. If furlough ended in June then all those furloughed employees wouldn't have a job to go back to as businesses couldn't afford to pay them if they weren't making any money.

As it is, hundreds of thousands won't have jobs to go back to even in October due to the lack of support given to small companies.

Just think there is more too it to be honest.

I see there is a sop to the RW libertarian fruitcakes in the form of eight Freeports. The Tufton Street mafia will be popping their champagne corks tonight, this is a huge victory for the forces they represent.

They will be situated/organised around

Thames
Liverpool
Solent
East Midlands
Freeport East
Plymouth
Humber
Teesside

This will be dressed up as being brilliant for jobs, for bringing in investment, creating wealth. Also expect them to be seen as a huge benefit brought about by BREXIT. I am sure the Express and the Heil will have their headlines already to go.

What these freeports will do though is suck wealth from elsewhere, they will create havens for worker exploitation, can be used for tax avoidance and money laundering. They are known to be used by crime syndicates and are notorious for counterfeiting. However the Tories dress these up, they are basically tax havens.

The national poverty wage is up to £8.91p , which gives a full time worker a whopping humungous extra £350 per year or alternatively an extra 95p per day.

One rather sinister statement i thought from Sunak was him saying that this "and" future governments will be responsible for paying back the money he is borrowing. He is cleverly trying to lay a trap for any future non Tory government. If they agree to this now, they are stuck with it and any reversal on that plan will be exploited by the Tories as being against the national interest. Their national interest of course is small government because they are fucking cranks.

A poor budget from a shit chancellor in a fucking awful government run by an idiotic PM.

Still cunts will vote for them.

You're right to be cynical.

It's not as if Tories have bought shares in hotels or holiday companies waiting for the profits bounce only to put us all back in when a new variant appears they knew about but ignored as usual...

Whenever furlough has been extended, lockdown has followed or vice versa.
You could argue that extension could give business change to get going again in the summer and thus get the workers back in slowly.
But the cynic in me suggests they are anticipating lockdown 4 coming to a city near you in august / september.

Mortgage guarantee scheme will just drive house prices up further as it drives up demand putting buyers at risk of going in to negative equity. Only winners are existing house owners.

First time buyers who would only be paying 5% would still need to support paying off the 95% which will drive up monthly mortgage repayments (but better than paying rent)

It is toss for those who've saved for years dor 10/15% deposits.

they young will pay it all back - middle England will be expected to pay it back - will big business finally be properly taxed to pay it back..............fuck this is a grim take on a way of cutting costs so you can continue to help to pay it back when you die
