Agreed. The bloke speaks well (incredible to think that English is not his mother tongue), and he also speaks with passion. Added to that is his incredible respect for opponents. Gobshites like Ferdinand, Rooney, Scholes, Keane, Gerrard etc, etc could learn a lot from him, but are far too fucking arrogant to admit any failings on their own part.I was referring to the captains role being important in a general sense rather than him having sway over ticket prices. I think we're lucky enough to have one of the best in the business.

It's a sobering thought that our ENTIRE matchday revenue is less than the increase in revenue we've got from the BT money. i.e. on receipt of the BT money we could have decided to make every home game completely free for everyone, and we would still have been better off than the previous season.
In that context, I really do think raising ticket prices is completely outrageous.

This always gets forgotten. When people used to say we shouldn't criticise John Wardle because he's put £20m into the club, I used to respond that we fans put at least that in every season so why shouldn't we have a say. When you tot up tickets, merchandise, TV subscriptions I bet it's not far short of £100m a year goes into the club from our pockets. He gave the club a interest free loan of the same amount I believe,so will get that back minus interest of course.
Sports Direct pays nothing for advertising inside the club which must be worth millions to him and Sports Direct took over all the NUFC club shops although I'm not sure what the the club gets revenue wise from this arrangement.
Doesnt grab me as a great philanthropist.
