The Chameleons / Chameleons Vox

Good to hear. We were wondering ourselves what the reaction would be given that it wasn't on the whole a Chameleons crowd - and particularly choosing the less 'accessible' Soul In Isolation as a fair chunk of the set! - but yes, they seemed to go down well.

It was a shame that the interview with Vox at the other place clashed with JFM's set - which was superb.
One of the good ones. Berlin weren't bad, Idol was good, loved Kraftwerk. Weird putting The The so high up the bill but I enjoyed it. Missus piled into the crowd to see JM, who was excellent. We sat on the bank just up from the vape van for most of it. Did do a bimble to see 10 minutes of Pil, average, and the Mondays...piss poor.

Great day out all in, especially as I got free tickets! Meant I could enjoy a few Atlantic Ales...even at 7.50 a can!

Yes, a memorable day out. First time I'd seen Billy Idol - have seen The Damned who were on at the same time a few times before - and pleased we did, thought he was really good. The The were such a tight unit, didn't miss a beat and enjoyed that too, like you say we also wondered why so high on the bill but having seen them you could see why. Be interesting to see if there are plans for a similar event again but maybe with some different bands...was actually quite remarkable how many bands happened to be available this weekend instead of on their own tour dates. I know Pete Murphy had to pull out this year, as apparently did Blondie much earlier.

It's a off shoot of an established American festival so I think it will carry on, especially as it has the same promoter.

As long as Billy has Stevie Stevens with him on guitar then he's generally very good.

He is some guitarist. Thought Billy himself has still 'got it' as well, stage presence and that aura about him, fair play at the age of 69!

What a line up that is

Strongly tempted even though it's Paris

Just had my first listen to Arctic Moon. I really wanted to like this album but am a bit disappointed tbh. 7 songs, 2 of which had already been released which didn't help and some of the others seemed too long. I would say there's no classic Chameleons anthem on there but hope the album is a slow burner. No way is it their best work imo. On par with WDAMB and WCIA. Nowhere near as good as SOTB and ST.

That said the production is fantastic. Sounded great on my headphones.

I'd be interested to hear anyone else's thoughts!
