Gutsy horse, never looked like a winner 3 out, never travelled but never gave up. A worthy winner.

SDC with his usual jockey and good ground might have reversed that. The others didnt have the excuses as the ground helped Long Run and Conti if anything.

I thought McCoy gave the runner up a great ride tbh
Bobs worth just a far far better horse and powered past him on the run in
If anything without the trouble the winner should of won by more.

McCoy rode it very differently to how Davy Russell would have ridden it. Davy is very still on his horses, McCoy drives them into virtually every fence. Both styles effective but very different.

Dont get me wrong Bob Worth was easily the best horse today. Just dont rule out SDC on good ground with Davy Russell on board.

Can't agree with that.
Sir Des Champs jumped like a stag, and second was the best he was ever going to finish.
McCoy had him up with the pace throughout, and kept him off the rails where the track cambers slightly, and the turf is softer.
What more could Russell have done that McCoy didn't?
If any horse hated the going it was the winner, rather than the second, and like Col said if he hadn't been hampered by the fall of Silvianico Conti he would have won by further.
If they met on the same terms again in a fortnight on good ground I know which I would back.
And it wouldn't be Sir Des Champs.

Fair enough. Thats your view, i just view McCoy's riding style to be the polar opposite of Davy, and i do believe sometimes it makes a difference. Davy would have been much calmer and less busy with the horse. McCoy asked for an effort at virtually every fence.

At the prices that they will be at when they next face each other, probably this time next year. I wont be on Bobs Worth at evens.

Lol women drivers.

Thought I'd lost until she wasn't watching what was happening. ;)

Of course she was watching - do you think she lost the biggest race of her life at 18 years old on purpose?
The horse just jinked - it happens to the best of 'em,and she had given the horse a fantastic ride by any standards, let alone a young amateur.
I feel for the poor girl.

True, maybe i'm wrong then as he must know best but he finished by saying he'll be back next year. Sadly we will have to wait that long. I said Bobs Worth was a worthy winner, today he was easily the best, he might be a great. All i said is dont rule out SDC on good ground with his usual jockey, i think it makes a difference.
